• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Christianity without baptism???

I think this is a nice piece of info:

"Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins." Here people were told to repent and be baptized for the remission of their sins. Only when we submit to baptism as the Lord has commanded, that is for the remission of sins to be saved, do we show our faith in the Lord. Only then will He save us.

Any comments?

Here's a comment. I understand that as an Anglican you believe that we must be baptized in order for God to save us. As wonderful as you think that interpretation of Scripture is, most Protestants do not believe that. Did you have anymore questions about Protestant beliefs or are we at the point where you enlighten us to the Anglican beliefs?

God bless

Another interesting little piece of info:

Being associated with the death of Christ through baptims means that it is only through baptism that we can have access to forgiveness. We are "buried with (Christ) in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through...the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins...hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses" (Col. 2:12,13). We are "washed...in the name of the Lord Jesus" (1 Cor. 6:11) - i.e. baptism into the name of Jesus is the means by which our sins are washed away. This was typified back in Num. 19:13, where those without the water of purification had to die

So do you ever speak to a pastor or consult anyone else on the teachings of Christ? (other than in Christian Forums of course).

I didn't say I was never a member of a church. I said I am not currently a member of a church. As to your question, of course I have spoken to many Pastors and consulted many learned Christians on the Gospel. I have studied the Gospel indepth for about the last five years and learned from the teachings of many great theologians. That's not even counting the numerous learned people I've consulted on Christian Forums, of course. :)

God bless

I am assuming this will be your last post on this subject, unless you are asking a question. Please refer to forum rules of conduct in regards to who may and who may not post comments or debate in PRE.

Thank you.
