Have any of you heard the statement that goes something like this: “Real scientist that are Christians put their faith behind them and don’t let it influence them on scientific issues so as to remain unbiased”? I’ve heard that a few times and it recently occurred to me that by them “putting their faith aside” is actually adding bias instead of taking it away. It’s basically ignoring something that is known (existence of God) so it doesn’t influence their conclusions. Does this make sense?

Interestingly, no one ever demands that an atheist put aside their disbelief in God when looking at evidence. There was also a while back I was told that some scientific evidence I posted about shouldn't be considered because the scientists weren't biologist or weren't palentologist, as though only those scientist in those specialties have knowledge worthy of being accepted. Of course when evidence is presented that meet the criteria demanded, it's simply dismissed with the old "that's a lie" line.

No matter what anyone says, we ALL have our assumptions and preconcieved ideas that effect how we interpret data. "Scientists" are actually just as biased as we are. Only their bias is against any form of the supernatural (6 day creation, global flood, etc)

When will people realize that Creation vs. Evolution is not science vs. religion. It is religion vs. religion. The presuppositions that evolutionists make and assumptions they come up with, take as much faith - if not more - to believe in that what the Historic Christian accepts. Anyone heard of uniformitarianism? The founding principle of gradualistic evolution? Guys/girls, it's an assumption.

Plus, if we truly believe that God is active, then supernatural things occur. If supernatural things occur, how hard is it to accept God's Word? See, this debate is really about whether God is active or not.
