Christian rock is a Blessing or Blasphemy

i like a lot of metal and that... and i'd love it if i could find enough christian metal, but i simply cannot find it, and that leads me to secular metal. i don't see anything wrong with listening to secular metal though, but the point is, if only christian metal were more accessibile...

Dude, there is so much hardcore Christian Metal out there.

Christian rock is awesome. The music is still Christian afterall. In secular music, many people have different tastes. The same is true of Christian music. One can't expect everyone to be moved by hymns (not that hymns aren't beautiful, they are). Christian rock helps people like me find something to relate to that is fun!

i have nearly stopped visiting this site because it appears to be the constant dragging and beating of a very dead horse; case in point, one cannot "discuss" a topic such as this here (in this site, much less the chirstians only section) because everyone here is argueing from their convicions and thier view cannot be changed.

Personally.. worship and CCM music is (in most cases) more satanic than straight up christian rock. I am basing this statement (yes I am generalizing) on studies I have done based upon attitude, motivation, and honesty of the band members own spiritual walk.

That speaks badly of the band members, but that has nothing to do with the "music" itself.

I think that Christian Rock is awesome as long as your heart is in the right place... after all didn't they use every instrument they had to praise him back in the OT?

You are right, it does speak badly about them.

Who would God appreciate more?

A worship leader who gets his crowd all emotionally crazy singing "I Could sing of your love forever" almost forever, or, a band member who has 3 or more guys within his group keeping him accoutable for his actions, and singing openly honest songs, even about the negative, humlbing himself infront of his crowd.


Hopefully it's not that hard of an answer.

Well we are supposed to build each other up...so I would advise against giving nothing but downer, hopeless negativitity

That said, Metal is some of he most beautiful, difficult, complicated styles to master. I am thrilled that bands such as Norma Jean strive to serve the Lord with it, and I think it is wrong to judge the hearts of individuals just because they don't play CCM hymnals and **** like you are used too.
