Yeah, Christian Rap is kinda frowned upon, mostly because the majority of it isn't that good. But hey, there are some really good artists out there. And even Nas writes songs that praise God, so look about. Even the mosts explicit songs can be pro-Christ.

there's many good christian rap artist but they are very underground. I do not like the well known christian artist I found their music and lyrics not appealing to me but the underground part its real good.

I've listened to rap for almost 15 years now. 1991 was the year I bought my first rap album. I've listened to just about all the secular rap and the Christian rap from 1990-2000. It does seem that Christian rap isn't as good as Secular rap in general. There are a lot of really bad Christian rappers. In the last few years, I've felt God call me to only Christian rap. During this time, either God has given a great appreciation of Christian rap or Christian rap has become better.

I listen to primarily KJ 52, Cross Movement, T-Bone and a little bit of Grits. I've been most impressed with the change in the Cross Movement in the last few years. Holy Culture and Higher Definition contain some of the greatest philosophically rhymes I've heard. They are definately equal to KRS One.

KJ 52 normally has 1 or 2 good songs. The rest of the album isn't exceptional, but not terribly bad. Grits is pretty much the same way.

No one in the Christian industry can compare to Dr. Dre's beats The largest thing that the secular industry has is the beats. However, rap is more than just beats. Personally, the more popular rap has gone mainstream in the secular world, the more junk is produced.

As to quality, T-Bone placed 2nd in a rap contest on MTV years ago. He almost had a secular deal out of the whole thing. It seems that God has other plans. He has been well respecting among parts of the secular industry.

Cross Movement definately is the best, no doubt. I constantly amazed at the depth of their lyrics. More often then not I can listen to the same song 10 times and still catch something else that is worth pondering.

Anyone here heard of Labaddics? I've got one song, No Laughter, of theirs. It's pretty good, but I'm interested if their other stuff is good. Or are they a one hit wonder.

Hey, what about Gospel Gangsta's ?? They aren't 'posers' like alot of those other so-called "rap" artists/groups !!

Ray

Did a google search on the above (i have some of their songs but didn't know much about them) Some of their members are formerly from rival gangs (Crips/Bloods)

It's wonderful to know that in Jesus, enemies can become brothers !!

Read more about them/their lyrics here -
