Christian Radio

yet! :)

Although you can have laptops with connections in your car.. but I wouldn't recommend using it to listen.. it might distract you.
ah.

until pda's are a little better/radio stations start getting 'intelligent' and starting massive Wireless networks that users can 'hop on' and only get their stream

anyways.. ;) once IPv6 is out and there are billions of ip's to go around.. your mp3 player will be able to browse the net. :)

we have a big station 94.9 KLTY and I dont like the direction that its taken the past few years. Although I was never a big fan of most of the music they play ever since I can remember, lately they have been promoting themselves as "family friendly". Its not really about the Christian aspect of it. They play several songs that are just covers of old songs from years ago. They also play Mercy Me, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, etc. But they have given away tickets to concerts that have nothing to do with Christian music. the latest one I remember is the Kelly Clarkson/Clay Aiken concert awhile back. I dont listen to it much any more, just when there are commercials on all the other stations. There is a Christian Alternative station which doesnt come in very well. Its a pretty small station I guess. 89.7 PowerFM. I like it but it comes in pretty bad, so I find myself on the local alternative station most of the time. I dont have the money to get cd's either :(

Christian radio does not play a variety of music and especially the "Fish" brand of stations play the same thing instead of giving the cutting edge artists a chance such as Kutless, Tait, Toby Mac, Detrick Haddon, Fred Hammond, and others....

KTLY is part of the "Fish" stations, including one here in Southern California which are owned by Salem. I hate that "Family Freindly" logo also ---the same songs every day.....Now I would not mind a mixture of teaching once in a while....

On the stations I get theres too much of the same genre, it gets dry when they keep playing the same song over and over again, too much Stacy Orrico, it compels me to drive 9" nails through my ear drums. Casting Crowns 'if we are the body' has been played rediculously overboard, it was a good song. But now I can't stand it. Too much mainstream! Get some underground artists and different genres, don;t be afraid to color outside of the lines is what I would suggest.

What I do like is that it's on the air--89.1 the J FM. All my life, there have been three Christian radio stations on air in my hometown, all three played the same bad southern gospel music, all three have the same rabid preachers spewing a very warped and unbiblical view of the gospel. I remember one time, my mother got so mad she punched the radio out of her Buick when the preacher started naming the names of women in his church who were going to burn in hell because he'd seen them at Wal Mart wearing blue jeans.

Last year, around August or September, we got the J FM. The J plays Christian hit music, everything from pop to R&B to rock. They usually mix the playlist up so you don't hear the same songs on a loop, which I like.

What I don't like--the station is merely a mirror station for a station that's about 70 miles away, so all the news is geared toward another city entirely. All the concerts, all the giveaways, etc... are a little too far out of area for me. Another thing I don't like, the station's signal dies rather abruptly about 3 miles from where I live, right in the middle of the city where everything is--Wal Mart, all the resturants, etc... So, I go to town, I get about half-way through town, and the station's gone. :( Another thing I don't like--no streaming audio. :(

Anyway, here's the website, but like I said, there's no audio stream. http://www.thejfm.com/
