Christian music that doesn't necessarily sound Christian?

If you're doing it just to feel good, are you really worshipping God, or yourself?
Operative word: "just."

No one is saying that we worship JUST to feel good. God is an emotional God and to worship Him we should have our emotions fully engaged.

"You shall love the Lord your God with ALL of your heart soul mind and strength."
Mark 12:29

That definitely includes the emotions.

Yes! The group called "ApologetiX" has over 600 Christian song paradies of many of the songs we of all ages grew up with.

I really enjoy them! For the most part, they are spot-on with their arrangements of the original tunes, spanning from the '50s to the present. I appreciate their ministry.

I was not speaking against emotion as if it's something that is bad. We need emotions like godly sorrow to have repentance worked within us, and joy to realize the peace of God's salvation through Christ.

My entire point was that many churches these days do not worship God with their music, but the aesthetics of it. I bear witness of this very fact, friend.

The operative word indeed is "just," which is why I used the word in the first place. If a person's genuine worship and praise of God triggers an emotion within them, more power to them because that is more than likely the Holy Spirit engaging with them. However, emotionalism should not be the driving motivator for a person's understanding of God, nor their relationship with Him. I have also seen it to be used a demonstration of a person's personal holiness, in the fact that they are so emotionally driven in their worship of God. They act that way during church worship times, but trying to talk to them about the faith outside of church is like trying to squeeze water out of a rock. I've witnessed this as well.

My entire point was that it is and can become an issue for many people, because people can be deceived by feelings.
