I do not quite understand why but it seems that most of the Christian games in development are attempting to sway away from PVP as to keep a "Christian" theme in the game play.
But this is far from reality. God Himself created man giving him one thing that America highly cherishes. Freedom. Stifling a game making it non-PVP turns everyone into a robot, running about beating up on AI. That concept is fine and all beating up on AI demons. But the lack of freedom will make these types of restricted games only appealing to what is coined as "Care Bare" Players.
It makes me think of Everquest when I first started. There you have PVP and NON PVP servers. Of course I went to PVP and played for a couple of years. Just growing board of the game generally I went to a non-PVP server to check it out. These are places for people, to my opinion who do not want to deal with real opposition. Real opposition is not artificial. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that game wise... If that is a persons preference so be it.
I myself prefer to play a "good" character in a pvp game with the ability to run into opposition from a real life person. It adds more excitement to the game.
I have yet to understand why the concept of just making a light vs dark game hasnt been approached. Giving a person an option to join one or the other is similar to real life itself. And for those that want to mimic light, with actions that are really dark, all that needs is a few game mechanics that trigger a change of the over all being. From light to dark.
God has created man and its up to man to choose a path. Incorporating this into a game with PVP or Light VS Dark, (LvD) would not only make the game more fun but also give people free choice.
And the confrontation between the 2 need not be physical with blood, but instead spiritual. Im in the middle of creating a story line that is a combination both physical and spiritual, with hopes to bring it to the table somewhere getting a game developed.
