  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The building is not important, but rather the money that stems from it. Last I read on IMB's website it costs .07 cents a minute to sustain a single missionary. Do the math on how many missionaries selling this 'villa' may sustain for a year.

Exactly! I remember reading something once that said how some missionaries live in extravagant homes. That is sickening when that money could be used to fund more missionaries going to the field.

Yeah is see you point a soul in Israel is much more important than a soul in China. And for sure to give a way a worldly thing as big as a building would upset our Lord terribly. And to think those people in China study the Word hiding in their neighbors homes in fear of being discovered by the police. What fools. I’ll pray for your building.

Wow....you're pretty cold their dude....you know that's not what is being said here.

what happened to compassion and mercy? Or don't calivnists teach that.

IMB has been out of Nazareth for years...and since they've pulled out of Israel, they'd rather upset the churches that were started than to allow them to continue in their current location. Instead they are putting most of the small churches in the predicamate of either buying the building from IMB or building/purchasing another and putting themselves into financial straights....
Amazing that they are shrinking the Kingdome these days instead of growing it...

Calivnist don't teach anything, it is an accurate interpretation of the Bible.

You sound like you believe that IMB has not the biblical authority over this property and you and others have some kind of special spiritual understanding of how this property should be used. And that of course that either God erred when He entrusted the property to IMB (and we know this can not be) or that evil has taken over the IMB and it is now a tool of the devil.

Is this what I am hearing from you? Has IMB lost it's authority entrusted to them?
Worth a public fight with IMB to acquire it as their own?

You see my problem is in the great school of advanced Calvinism I was taught that Gods will will be done, He has a plan that He has not revealed to us.

:sigh:

This is a public fight!

13Katy MilesFor a long while the IMB has been acting as corruptly as the UN...time to end it! Don't sell this building! How would Lottie Moon have felt if you'd sold her church out from underneather her amazing missionary works in China....imagine what you're doing to today's christians in nazareth...selling their building right out from over their worshipping heads...
Shame on you....hypocrites!
14Robert C. FergusonMay God open the darkened eyes of the IMB and allow the brothers and sisters to continue this vital work.

but i said it before. i'm not against the IMB. and no one is against the IMB. i'm not attacking them at all. and no one is interested in attacking them. not to mention having a war with them. no way.
we just disagreed with their decision. and we have the right to make our voice heard. we can't force them to do -or not to do- anything. all we can do is negotiating, and and telling our side of the story. that's all what it is about.

Having a rally to ask them not to sell the building will be seen as the Body of Christ being divided. Why not have a meeting with them and talk to them about your congregation's needs and ask them to help you, instead of organizing a protest against the sale?
