  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anyone know of any good Christian Metal bands? I have never even heard any Christian Metal music and am looking to maybe download a song or two and see if I like it but I don't know who to look for or what song to try out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. And no, I do not illegally download music. I buy my music from a website where you can get songs for 99 cents each. :)

Not to mention that they are incredibly talented!

Greetings,

What genre do you prefer? I can give you a list if you pick from the basic metal genres:

Nu-Metal (this is not music, so I'm not into this)
Power Metal
Heavy Metal
Classic Metal
Thrash Metal (Christian thrash bands are rare)
Speed Metal
Melodic Metal
Death Metal
Melodeath/Melodic Death Metal
Black Metal (yes there are christian band in here, usually referred to as unblack or white metal)
True Metal
True Black Metal
Norsecore
NSBM (I don't think the feature any)
Pagan Metal (same story)
Doom Metal

I think that sums it up, feel free to add :)
If you have questions considering genredefinition please ask.

I honestly don't know a whole lot about the different genres. Is there any Metallica style Christian metal out there?

Like I said, thrash bands that play christian stuff are rare, but you might want to go with a band called Oil. It may not be exactly allike but it's the same genre. There are some samples from their website www dot oilmusic dot com (i'm not allowed to post a link yet for some childish reason, write everything together)
I hope you are referring to old Metallica and not St. Anger, because their are very different genres as well.

Try Tourniquet for in the direction of Metallica.

For the rest I can recommend Morphia (doom), Antestor (black), Narnia (power), Stryper (traditional heavy/hair), Lengsel (black), (early) Living Sacrifice (thrash)

Idicious, do you ever listen to bands that take no ideological stand? I could recommend some great BM if you are interested.

what about Leper Messiah ?

Spineless from the start, sucked into the part
circus comes to town, you play the lead clown
Please, please
spreading his disease, living by his story
Knees, knees
falling to your knees, suffer for his glory
You will

[Chorus]
Time for lust, time for lie
time to kiss your life goodbye
Send me money, send me green
Heaven you will meet
Make a contribution
and you'll get a better seat
[End Chorus]

Bow to Leper Messiah

Marvel at his tricks, need your Sunday fix
blind devotion came, rotting your brain
Chain, chain
Join the endless chain
Stinking by his glamour
Fame, Fame
Infection is the game, stinking drunk with power
We see

[Chorus]

Bow to Leper Messiah

Witchery, weakening
Sees the sheep are gathering
set the trap, hypnotize
now you follow

[Chorus]

Lie.

When I hear elements of NS in music (hateful german language that reminds me of WW II) then I get itchy, and want to turn it off. If I can't hear what it's about, as for example with the slavic Drudkh you mentioned, then I do not really care. Hate Forest is another example.

ho NSBM ???
can't stand that nauseous artform... maybe some of those sad suckers play good music but the values they stand for are so wrong I won't listen to any of them...
I know though some NS ppl don't use their NS routine for lyrics... I'm okay with those ones... for example Drudkh's Autumn Aurora is a good album made by bad ppl but I like it better than bad music made by good ppl ! LOL

can i say censorship is evil too ? LOL
