Politicians and faith leaders are raising concerns after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Defence Yoav Gallant Thursday over its military offensive in Gaza.

The International Criminal Court, a supranational organization tasked with "trying individuals for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and aggression," released a statement Thursday announcing that it issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu over "crimes against humanity and war crimes" that purportedly took place between Oct. 8, 2023, and May 20, 2024.

The time period covered by the warrant overlaps with the conflicts that have erupted in the Middle East after the terrorist organization Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, launched a deadly invasion in Southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, killing around 1,200 people, mostly civilians.

I really don't envy Netanyahu's position here in terms of decision making, but if I were in his shoes I feel I would have no choice but to do what he has done. If you have an entire people that is philosophically opposed to your country and wants to destroy it, it's kill or be killed and I would have little choice but to wipe them out.

It's my opinion that the people of Palestine should submit to the Isreali government or else leave the area. While applying Romans 13 to unbelievers is incorrect, the principle should stand. You shouldn't have to sit as head of state and watch your people be killed. That's the wrong thing to do - as a leader of a country, your responsibility should be to protect your citizens. That's what a government should do.

The Holocaust is a horror because it was unprovoked. Hamas has been provoking Isreal for years, and they deserve what they got, as nasty and inhumane as it is. The wages of sin is death.

If there was any errors by Netanyahu, it's not giving the people of Gaza the option to submit to Isreal or the option to leave in order to save their lives. But how do you know if the defectors are fake or if letting them go will just bring them back to kill Isrealis by another route? There are no good options.

I don’t know about the article in the original post, it seems to be a collection of other people’s opinions.

As for what I wrote in post #2, that’s definitely an editorial. Though calling it an editorial might be an unnecessary compliment, more like my intuition on the subject printing itself off with the limited data it has acquired.
