Sweet.Fortunately the City council told Thomasson and his hate group to go away.
It's so ironic that the people claim to be hateless are often the biggest purveyors of hatred themselves. I wonder what this group has to do with you? Did they call you names? Steal your car? Burn down your house? None of the above, but you still vent your hatred for them and narrow mindedness toward their values here on this board.Campaign for Children and Families (wow talk about a ironic name) and its leader Randy Thomasson has lost another fight in California.
You may recall this group tired to repeal legislation that would protect children from harassment and violence in the schools.
Well they tried to get KernCounty to pass an anti-marriage bill. Thomasson said in an interview about the hoped for passage of this anti-marriage bill This will be as inspirational as the Alamo, without the guns, knives, blood or death,
Fortunately the City council told Thomasson and his hate group to go away.
Its even more rich than you might think at first glance. Not only did the "Christian" hate group's own natural allies (hillbillies) turn their backs on them they said that to attempt to pass such an ordinance would be "unquestionably unconstitutional". Which of course it would be.
So you have a supposedly "Christian" activist group suborning sedition and a bunch of back-water County Supervisors actually have to teach THEM a lesson on the law. ROFL!
Usually haters don't tell the truth.I went to their website and didn't see anything at all that would indicate that they're a hate group and I didn't see anything about an "anti-marriage bill".
It's been my experience that when somebody couches their words in such a stilted and emotional way as the OP does, but doesn't give a link to any article, it's because they're not telling the truth.
My visit to their website certainly seems to confirm that the OP isn't telling the truth.
Here's a link to one story that mentions their efforts:I went to their website and didn't see anything at all that would indicate that they're a hate group and I didn't see anything about an "anti-marriage bill".

Here's a link to one story that mentions their efforts:
http://socialistworker.org/2008/06/24/new-era-same-sex-marriage
This is the second-to-last paragraph:
Although many marriages have taken place in the last few days, there are cities in California, such as Bakersfield, where gay people are still denied this human right. The right-wing anti-gay marriage group Campaign for Children and Families (CCF), after failing to stop the marriages, asked county clerks to deny licenses to same-sex couples until after the outcome of a November statewide ballot initiative that would bar the unions."
Basically, after spending the last three weeks trying to get the Kern County clerks to deny licenses to gay couples, they failed.
Granted, they are not listed as a 'Hate Group' by the ACLU or anything like MassResistance is, but by actively trying to prevent one specific group of people from excercising their (newly awarded) civil rights is an action that reeks of extreme dislike, if not hate.
http://www.ccfcalifornia.com/legalaction.htmlDo you have anything at all to show that they're a hate group or that they sponsored an "anti-marriage bill"?
http://www.ccfcalifornia.com/legalaction.html
From the first item (and keep in mind this is THEIR website):
On June 12, Liberty Counsel filed a petition on behalf of Campaign for California Families requesting the California Court of Appeal to stay the issuance of marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
That's pretty clear, I would say. I didn't mention a 'Bill', but from the other article, they did "fail to stop the marriages" meaning they tried to, and then since they couldn't, they sent letters to 38 of the 50-some-odd counties in CA demanding that they refuse to issue marriage licenses to gay couples. Not only that, after reading all of the efforts they have made to deny civil rights to gay people, YES, I would call them a 'hate group'.
Honestly, it would be difficult to find a story on the actual bill, as it appears all of the news stories about it are cached. If you google 'CCF CA gay marriage bill" you'll find quite a bit, but again, you'll have to click on the 'cache' link, because most of the older stories are "404" links.OK. So do you have any evidence all to support the OP's claim that they are a hate group or that they've sponsored any sort of "anti-marriage bill"?

SaintInChicago said:Whether you are in Rome, India, or Japan, marriage is by definition a man and a woman. The perversity advocates like to scapegoat Christians for the fact that virtually every culture throughout history has had marriage as man + woman.
SaintInChicago said:Why do some people feel the need to force their morals on others? Why are the pro-perversion bigots always shoving their beliefs in other people's faces? So intolerant.
Honestly, it would be difficult to find a story on the actual bill...
Also, they are a hate group.
...because such a bill doesn't exist.
Then you should have no problem showing evidence to back that up.

Funny - Gay marriage has been legal here in Massachusetts for four years now, and we have no hellfire raining down on us... Why do you think that is? I mean, I was promised fire and brimstone, G-d's wrath, and we got nothing.I don't think this is going to be able to be stopped because I think this is going to be used as an example to us all eventually, Lot tried to stop all the sin and perversion that was happening in Sodom and Gommorah and was unable to, only to see divine justice rain down on the city. I mean look at all the fires that are happening in California now. While Californians are celebrating in their sin their land is literally burning down in fire in front of their eyes.

You are right, I stand corrected. It was an ordinance, and here is a .pdf with the actual language they used (note the CCF signature on the bottom)
They want to deny rights to a minority - What part of that doesn't make them a hate group??
The right for gay/lesbian/bisexual people to marry the person they love. That ordinance is NOT pro-marriage. It is discriminatory based on sex, and discrimination based on the sex of a person is unconstitutional.Maybe a few remedial reading lessons would help you. According to the text of that ordinance, it's very much pro-marriage, not anti-marriage.
Really? What rights do they want to deny to anybody?
