I've seen some of them, and none of them are very good. I've heard that a fairly new one called Catechumen is better than most, but in terms of the quality of its design it doesn't come anywhere close to some of the non-religious ones like Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

If you only want to play games that are disticntly Christian, you'll run into the same problem that you would if you only wanted to read books or watch movies that were distinctly Christian: you won't find anything that's very good. The best Christian writers/directors/designers almost always create books, movies and games that just about everyone can enjoy. Tolkien is a good example of this--his Lord of the Rings series may be written from a Christian point of view, but non-Christians can enjoy it just as much as Christians.

I've heard a lot of people say that the original two Myst games (Myst and Riven) have some Christian themes in them, which I guess isn't surprising because the series' creators are Christians. I also think they're quite well-made. You won't find anything overtly Christian in them, though--they're more like Lord of the Rings than Left Behind.

Quel lome, oio naa elealla alasse' :)

I've seen some of them out there - Computer Games (Nov'03 issue I believe) did a feature on what's been released. I only recall seeing one or two at EB and they usually ended up in the bargain bins rather quickly.

You should pick a Feb-04 issue of Computer Games magazine. (can you tell I'm a subscriber to it?? :D) They had an interesting article titled, "In Pursuit of God Games written by David Deckard. He listed some of the hurdles that designers of Christian games have to overcome and how they usually set themselves up for failure. By this, I mean the FPS, adventure, etc style of games with a Christian Theme.

There's a game coming out later this year titled, Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Me personally, I have no intentions on buying it simply because I see it as cashing in on the book of Revelations and adding gratuitous violence to it. But, that's just my humble opion.

did NO ONE play REQUIEM?????

It was a cecular release game but after playing it from Begining to end, my guess was the people behind it must have had some understanding of Christian principles, probably from a catholic perspective.

anyway.... I thought it rocked!!! Dated now but at the time it was as good as any other FPS out there. (About the same time as Unreal I think).

Ahhh so Four Horsemen is by 3DO... and so was Requiem.... interesting........

Anyway, I know when I do a Christian Game, it will also be based on Revalation. And why not? Something tells me when the end comes, it's not going to be pretty. Either that or the book of revaltion is all wrong. You choose.

The game sounds vaguely familiar, but that's the first I've really seen of it.
