  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have two computers, one running ubuntu linux, the other windows 7.

The windows7 used to work on this site, but no more. Neither Chrome or Firtfox. Error is website has been reset. and a mostly white screen.

On my main use linux PC, only Firefox works but not very well. Chrome works sometimes, but most of the time I get error 502. I uised to use Chrome but have had to switch to firefox.

I uploaded a screen of Chrome browser showing the error.
So I am having a hard time just with this site, all other sites are ok.

Any ideas why?

It's a new service that CF has signed up with, so when their servers are having problems you'll see the Error that you have on your screen shot. (Surprised me also)

For the Linux PC
Ok, but I dont see that error using Firefox.
Chrome can be dying on me with that error, and if I instantly switch to Firefox, the pages load.

For the win7 PC
And still does not explain why the other win7 PC cant load the pages at all anymore. There was also one time Avast AV gave me a virus warning on the Christianforums page.

Are all your systems using the same DNS server?

yes, they are all plugged into my home router and I have not changed the DNS, it is just COX AFAIK,

Om the win7 PC it got steadily worse to the point where every time I tried to access the site I got an error. I dont regularly use it, so I can work around the issue.

I just tried IE 11 on the win7 pc and it cant load the web site.

I think next I should reboot the win7 PC.

I suppose I should try the sevenforums.com and see if they have an idea.

Another issue is with editing posts. In Firefox, edit shows an empty text box, and quote reply also is empty but not always.

Since I have issues with both win7 and linux on multiple PC maybe something really odd is going on with malware? I have a win 7 laptop to try out next.

I solved the problem using a proxy server.
My IP address and ChristianForums seems to be having some blockage issues.
But using anonymous proxy of which there are thousands, I can now use the Chrome browser again. So if anyone over there is deliberately putting up stumbling blocks, you cant anymore.

I think it quite odd that multiple independent PC's with differing OS started having this issue. But see all having the same origination IP address.

Got to make you wonder. And see I just posted and then edited this post and it all worked fine.
