There's lots of important things, but I'll be happy if the 'going off topic' issue stops. It's been ruining honest debate from one derail to the next.
It goes from the OP: "baptism", and within 10 pages, you're arguing over "Christmas is Pagan"
The will not be RLers, but will be mnphysicist and constance for now with the possibility of adding another in the future. We will try to provide a solid / stable balance in leading this community to see better days!
New Staff Structure
Moderation:

Yes, I agree. The new rules sound quite good, and I think it would be the best if the actual set of rules wasn't changed... maybe some rules could be clarified a little, or the wording changed, but in my opinion, the site doesn't really need any more rules other than the ones in LeeD's post... in this case, simplicity is good.
I have some concerns about the idea of all staff members being appointed by Lee... since that would mean only people who Lee knows personally being able to join staff, and that could be really unfair.
I agree about that too - I LOVE that we're able to explain what our post is about - Not every post is a clear flame... many are 'debatable' and judgment calls.I'm disappointed that reports will be private again. I think it really helped people to see what mods do when working reports. Many of the concerns that lead to 777 in the first place had to do with secrecy, and the idea (mistaken or not) that staff did whatever we liked behind our closed doors. The openness has helped. I hate to think of us going back to the pre-777 animosity based on secrecy.

I truly disliked being at the mercy of other people when I had no way of knowing what they were deliberating -- and no hand in explaining myself OR offering to fix the post to appease them.
and we SHOULD be allowed to EDIT our posts without continual infractions or strikes (not that I get many), but it's gotten ridiculous and that's why some great Christians were leaving PRIOR to 7/7/7 - they felt suppressed & censored with not being able to express much without getting continual notches against them.
Rules & violations crimped honest and deep debate very much.
I PRAY it doesn't turn into that again - there are good & [very] bad things about this system and good & bad things about the other.
I don't know if I can handle the violations/reports issue going back to what it was completely. It was terrible feeling so helpless.

Yes, I agree.
I do not want pre-777 and if that comes into effect, those who didn't like that system will not keep quiet.
This is not high school or a sorority house, it shouldn't be run by cliques.

I hear you Lisa, I don't report near as much as I used to now. And yep, I love the visibility - even if they didn't allow any other's input, I like the visibility so I know how they are deliberating & what they may take issue with.I agree but I will take what I can get. Maybe, people will think twice about hitting the report button like they used to. I know I used to HATE reporting someone. I do like the visibility though.

I agree with this.
Please reconsider open reports Lee, yes there were some problems but all in all more good has come out of them then bad.
