I think we should all just take a breath. As I said before.

I don't know if the new stuff is good or bad. I have my opinion.

But...what I do know is that the reservoir of trust and goodwill has been empty for a long time. Look to this as a chance to refill it.

Lee brings and outside eye. That is not a bad thing. If he informs it with advice from a wide range of people who are experienced here it could be a good thing. It could be what is needed.

Can people be wary...sure. That's normal.

But this is a chance for a full new start. It was likely the one thing that would refill the reservoir of goodwill. Give all the benefit of the doubt and leave past baggage at the door.

That was not possible with 7-7-7. And for others it was not possible before.

Now, it should be possible to be still and wait and give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

Be still and know that Christ is our Lord.

Share a prayer together and wait and see.

I know people have a lot of concerns...but leave the past in the past and try to look at people you have disagreed with...with a new set of eyes. Leave past hurts, disputes and debates aside.

Spend sometime in fellowships areas and prayer threads in the next few days and set some; Who, what, when...why worries aside.

None of this will be resolved in the next few days or even weeks. It will take longer than that to get a handle on stuff.

So set worry and past concerns aside for a moment. Take a breath and give everyone...especially someone you have strongly disagreed with in the past, the benefit of the doubt.

View the changes with that eye rather than one of grim worry.

We are an Easter people after all.

Are non-conservative or non-nicene staff being demoted or removed without any notice??
Because that seems very, very unfair !!!±!
It is a workable starting point.

All rules are provisional and should be treated as such. The rules should serve the community, not the community the rules.
Hi. Is Lee still going to keep Nicene and non-Nicene seperate? Just wondering. Thanks.

AND the rules equally applied to ALL POSTING. Including staff.
Something rarely done to date.

I think open reports has led to a lot of hostility and conflict.

I'd really like to hear Lee's input on this issue.

I was given a good tip to see who reports ppl.
If you put someone on ignore, you can see who's post isnt showing.. so you know who reported you.

Open reports have caused alot of arguing. And bad feelings.

BUT I am going to skip over opinions and just say... statistics are good for something...

They are proof positive that the 'new rules' didn't work [or lack thereof] and many people either gave up their support and or left.

The traffic decreased, and ppl who stayed were more contentious. [No man is law unto themselves]

So, given the fact that 3 months of testing the new idea shows it either didnt work, or it worked rather poorly ~ is that particular truth which is the only guage we really need.

When the Christian forum had Christian rules, and had the Nicene Creed the traffic was higher, the support was greater and the arguing was minor.

Relativism caused this site to loss it's identity. And since it was always a Christian base, it would do well to return to its roots.

Kudos LeeD for seeing the difference and implementing that which actually works.

You lost alot of good staff due to the changes and the chaos that ensued. Not only those who quit but also left this site.

Reinstating the old system with some minor tweeks will be the most productive.

For instance allowing non Christians into other areas to ask questions [seekers] and not to argue or ridicule. To make this place civil again.

And let the ones who want to disturb the peace, take it outside somewhere.

God Bless.

Hope this made some sense.

Actually, I think you'll find this is a Christian Forum - non-Christians are under absolutely no obligation to post here.

I agree with you, however there should be equal respect, and no one should be offered a license to bash, and thus is what will happen if the rules are not applied equally, unless there is something in the Bible that commands not to.

That's easy. It's because YOU are WRONG and I am RIGHT. Remember? We've been over this before!

Now... what kind of coffee are you drinking today?

Dude! I can't tell you how much I've missed you!

...and that has been one of the main problems as of late.

Non-Christian people have been invited here, and allowed to be unbelievably uncivil and nasty in their Christianity-bashing. Horrible posts are reported, and the staff either doesn't get around to actioning them, or just blows them off completely - thus, inviting even more abusive posting.

I remain dumbfounded as to what Erwin was thinking.

I think open reports has led to a lot of hostility and conflict.

I think in the long run, in comparision to having private report forums, there was LESS hostility and conflict, because it gives the opportunity for the member to clarify or state their position in the thread.

However, if it were possible to have the system coded so posters could only see and respond in posts about THEMSELF, now that I would be open too.

But I am against having private report areas again.

Well Bud, time will tell whether I decide to come back to this site. There will have to be some HUGE changes - but it looks like LeeD might intend to make them.

We shall see...

Exactly, and I also am glad that the time was taken to see and read and observe and cut through all the muddy waters that started this mess in the first place. It is refreshing to see clear direction and purpose. I am trusting that all these rabbit trails, side issues, have been waded through and that Lee will not allow it to grow murky again.
