Christian Encylcopedia???

When I was younger my youth group leader used to teach bible study from a set of books that looked an encyclopedia set. Each page had 1/4 of if dedicated to the actual verses from the bible, and the remaining 3/4 contained explinations, history, back ground.

Anyone know what this would be called? Or where I could find one?

Thank you for looking but no it didnt, i should have been more descriptive, it wasnt named encyclopedia, it was just a large volume of books that resembled one. There was a specific name for the set i just dont remember.

This sounds like a commentary. There are a lot of commentaries out there and many have the format you described - the passage of scripture alongside the commentators notes. Be careful, though, because all commentaries reflect the commentator's interpretations and understandings.

So, what did you find out?
Sounds like The Interpreter's Bible to me. It came out in the 1950's. No pictures, just all text, right?

Yes, be careful with commentary. Often times people put too much into it and forget what the Bible really says. Just like here on CF, we give our opinions on things. That's all commentaries are; opinions
