I think I may be a "closet Episcopalian"

1) Episcopal/Anglican Church

2) Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

3) Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod

4) Methodist/Wesleyan Church

5) Roman Catholic Church

Interesting that the first choice given for many of you Anglicans/Episcopalians was "Evangelical Lutheran Church in America", where I'm a member of the ELCA and exploring seminary (gotta decide fairly soon!) and the first choice I was given was "Episcopal/Anglican Church"!

Honestly, that's a little bit toooo optimistic, isn't it? The Roman Catholic Church perhaps, or any collection of liberal churches, but the tiny and divided ECUSA?

Oh well, loyalty is admirable.

I don't know about the post you're replying to, but I'd just like to point out that Roman Catholicism has it's own problems. I'm honestly not sure it's any better than fundamentalism, just different. In fact, in many senses, it has the potential to be worse, because it has more of an authoritarian structure. If all the world's churches were fundamentalist congregations, the non-fundamentalists in any given area could probably all find a congregation to join and vote in reforms, but if all the world's churches were Roman Catholic, we'd be stuck.

Lol... not too many surprises here

1# Presbetyrian USA
2# Presbetyrian Orthodox
3# Reformed Churches
4# Assemblies of God
5# Mennonite Bretheren

lol, then the Anglican/Episcopalian Churches came in at 12th...:p, then ECLA 13th, RC 18th and EO 19th... I seriously wonder though how they accurately definaed exactly what constituted an anglican church...

They assume that liberal Anglicanism, such as the current posture of ECUSA, defines the faith. In order to push Presbyterian Orthodox down a little on your summary and push Anglican up from 12th (it was 11th for me, I think) you have to assume a liberal interpretation of the meaning of scripture, that salvation is something we are working on in with our good works, that we commune infants and toddlers, and that you take for granted the ordination of women. Traditional Anglicans may very well have a different 'take' on such issues, but the poll treats those answers as unAnglican.

I ran the poll again, de-emphasizing Christ and scripture and making most of my answers to be of medium importance with few as highly important to me. Anglican/Episcopalian immediately rose to #2 on my profile.
