We shouldn't enable people in their sin. Calling them the opposite sex from what they are is perpetuating a lie. Obviously with a child this young, the sin is the parents', not the child's.
If you are employed at a job that would bring up a conflict of interest then you need to leave that place and find something more agreeable to you. Sacrifice is one of the things that Christian should be highly comfortable with since a sacrifice was done in our behalf.

The one we discussed. I already know and have acknowledged that the child in this story may not have been diagnosed at this point.

We covered that didn't we? I responded that if the child had been evaluated by a qualified therapist, the physician would simply want to talk directly to that person.

I'm sure if CPS was called then they are doing their own evaluation. I just hope all this grandstanding has not effected the kid. Children are fragile and look to us to be the adults in the room.

I think pretending is very big with young children. Usually it goes away. People just deal with it. I never hear a parent or teacher tell a boy, they aren't spider man. And refuse to allow them to play or go by Spiderman. I just don't think this wouldn't be such an issue. If Christians weren't afraid this child will become transgender and they have rights now days.

And I noted my problems with that authority.

However, we are going in circles now.

CPS has been known to remove children from a home for being transgender and fight over giving them back to the parents even with a diagnosis. I'm very wary of them.

No evidence whatsoever has been brought to this discussion that would indicate they are forcing anything on the child.

And that why this child wants to be a boy.

Concern for what? That isn't the same thing as neglect.

LISTEN UP! The teachers are concerned because the CHILD has at times told other children NOT to say she is a boy. The CHILD has told other children NOT to call her by the boy name that her parents said to call her.

So yeah, there is reason to believe that this CHILD is confused and MAY NOT see herself as a boy.

"Kirksey says sometimes the little girl refers to herself as a little boy, and sometimes she tells the other children to not call her a boy or to refer to her by her masculine name."

So who's mental health and wishes are important here, the CHILD'S or the parents? Someone needs to find out what this CHILD believes and needs.
Not to mentions the other children's confusion about what name to even call her.

The medical community officially disagrees. Given that they have studied this issue and I can literally see their information if I choose to, I'm going to side with them over some declaration of sin.
I choose God and His Church and it's consistent, millenia-old teachings on sex, sexuality, and sin over the recent decisions of the medical/psychological community on human sexuality.

Trans is a disorder to be corrected, and we should focus on healing and compassion, but not celebrating the disorder itself as if it were not a disorder. Doubly so when it is being forced on children.

True, I agree. But we don't know that this child is trans, and there is evidence she is not.

Are the teachers suing to keep their jobs? I didn't read that in the article.

I've never heard of teachers being fired for not pretending their students were spider man.

I'll use your example of bruising and expand on it. I was a mandatory reporter in my old profession and I will be once again, in my new profession. For example, say I see a young child with a tiny bruise on the abdomen. That tiny bruise often hides internal hemorrhaging, cracked ribs, etc. Plenty of kids have died because someone overlooked their tiny bruise. And- what is generally known of abuse is that when those types of bruises are found- then someone did it to them.

Going back to the OP topic, it really does send up red flags when a six-year-old's parents insist the child be referred to as the opposite sex, and further, when said six-year-old is inconsistent in how they refer to themself. It is NOT developmentally normal and it warrants investigation.

Technically, aren't transgender people the opposite sex they become for all intents and purposes? They have the hormones of the opposite gender and all that entails-voice, facial characteristics, etc. Gender isn't just a black/white issue of anatomy.

I'm not in any way, shape or form condoning the lifestyle by what I just said, btw.

I don't know about this particular reporting but perhaps that there are cases like that is worth mentioning anyway. And no, this site is serious not satire.

EVERYWOMAN WEEKLY

This site appears to be a mix of satire and rational commentary. The best satire is always based in the truth, and the author of this particular piece of satire nailed the underlying issue.

I've commented on the possibility that the child is possibly more fluid. You'll not that your own quote says "sometimes".

Regardless, this still doesn't show that the parents are forcing it on the child. You'll also note that this is a quote from someone who refused to follow the directions of her employer and got fired for it.
