Remember Woodstock 1968? 400,00 people traveled to hear a 3 day
concert all about Freedom and Peace. Or Moses and the flight from Egypt.

Where there is Christianity there is Peace there is GOD.
What IRAQ needs is a mass of Religious to embrace the
IRAQ people in a huge gathering over a few days in a celebration of Freedom and Peace.

Another Woodstock in the Middle East? Imagine a few million people
gathering to call on GOD and celebrate his love for life. And from all forms
of religion.. you name it. A WORLD CELEBRATION OF DIVERSITY IN IRAQ
ALL PRAISING THE SAME GOD.

What do you think about an organized Christian/Muslim Crusade?
Originating from the Holy Land and winding up in IRAQ
along with other religious groups to do this?

A massive road trip with food, supplies, clothes, blessings, love and peace
in the vehicles, not bombs. Oh Security could be there to help all along the
way..The UN could pull this off to promote peace through people.

Is this a good idea for the world to consider doing for IRAQ?
A celebration of their music and other cultures in the area
joined together to praise GOD for PEACE. People from all over
the world could attend simply by supplying themselves and
renting a vehicle if needed.

This would also send a message to religious extremeist that their fight is over.:priest:

Sounds good to me! Sign me up! ;) Although....there were no car bombs & AK 47's being aimed at the Woodstock-festival-goers. It would probably turn into an all-out Holy War.

Great notion, though. Perhaps borrow the security forrces that Greece got approval for on the upcoming Olympics?

You sure you're thinking in terms of Christianity? If all religions are different paths to the same place/God, then does truth contradict itself?

Jesus said:

JN 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."

The hitch in the plan: Jesus is God - Jesus will not allow you to go around that fact. So, you can't worship the same God unless you first go to the same cross.

:priest: Awesome responses... Christians were not just dropped on this planet, they
converted from the very first Apostles forward. They marched around the
world and in tough areas too.. I will spare you the details. Why are Christians
so afraid to talk to others and visa versa? We need to embrace one another
and celebrate our diversity. You do know that once someone hears the good
news about Jesus and witnesses his life that they usually convert.... Iraq is
all about not having Jesus except the 800,000 in the country that normally
have lived in peace there. What the muslims have now witnessed is that no
one is saving them or coming to their rescue except people who resemble Christians. Laying their life down for someone else..... Some people are Christian and they do not even know it or JESUS.

A party is an excellant way to give the people of IRAQ something to look forward to besides war and death and terror.. I say kick it up a notch over there and spread some HOLY POWER.......JEWS, MUSLIMS,CHRISTIANS whatever religion is in IRAQ should be represented by this UN PARTY in DIVERSITY. If John Lennon was alive today he would open the show with
IMAGINE......

I recently heard the following (that you may have seen me post before) & it completely woke me up:

"The single greatest cause of athiesm today is Christians who acknowledge Christ with their lips, but walk out the door & deny Him with their lifestyles. That is what an unbelieving world today finds simply unbelievable". Amen.

I think the OP is a great notion. Remember, the title of this thread is "Christian Crusade". Does Billy Graham shun non-Christians from getting together & attending his stadium speeches? Nope. What ends up happening? He converts many, many unbelievers & brings them to Christ. I don't think the poster of the OP meant to embrace the different religions themselves, but to embrace these lost PEOPLE of all faiths & show the world we CARE about them. Not to sound "sneaky", but what an awesome way to reach people & bring them to CHRIST. :prayer:

I am afraid the result would be a bloodbath. Does anyone know what many moslem terrorists think of Israel? What might their reaction be to anything stating in Israel?

Also do you know that the word 'crusade' is offensive to arabs? They have visions of 1200ad.

On the otherhand if the secular government of Iraq were to enforce religious freedom, then the people of Iraq could host any kind of event they chose. Moslems, Jews, and Christians could unite to celebrate their independence or their constitution. Or they could have a national day of mourning in memoriam to the 300,000+ murders under Saddam. Since we are all victims, we can be drawn together without compromising our beliefs.

what in God's name ... ? the pretext of woodstock was peace and harmony but also the rising up a few youths expressing rage against the status quo and thus became the counter cutlure. there was a whole lot of sex drugs and rock n' roll in 68. of course those people grew up to become part of the status quo.

and no, it's a terrible idea.

and moses wasn't exactly the greatest leader ever conceived. he may have had a few good speeches but for 40 yrs he roamed and the people just blindly followed. back then, 40 yrs was an entire life time. how many people here would follow someone for 40 yrs? sure it sounds romantic in theory but after a few hrs, most people become irritable and aren't exactly pleasant company. also consider the inbreeding back then ... eww.

but i'm going off track - where there is christianity in the world, there is violence. case(s) in point - the crusades, india, iraq this weekend, ireland, etc. etc. where ther should be peace, ideas are perverted and used against groups of people. when people here discuss the persecution of christians, it drives me up the wall. do any of you have any idea how badly people across the world have been persecuted for not being christian by christians? remember the inquisition? remember the indians? europeans wiped out nearly an entire race of indigenous population. of course those "missions" were under the pretext of spreading christianity but nevertheless underscores the fact that christianity is a very violent and selfish religion.

and a better idea would be to just stay in your home countries and oragnize food drives and misc. and send the shipments overseas and/or donate to the international red cross or whatever else non-governmental organization that is involved in charity work.

I like the idea of attempting to bridge the gap and spread the love :)

However, I beleive that the religious views held by the muslim communities over there would probably get in the way quite a bit.

There is a bit of religious-xenophobia over there. Christians in the West may be a bit more open minded and accepting of different theologies, but in Iraq, especially with American troops over there, they would probably not be very, um..... KEEN on the idea of Jesus and Mohammed playing nice...

The people that are coming in from outside to fight us are fighting a war that began 2600 years ago when the area we now call Iraq was the center of the world and power. Muslims know their History, Christians should also know it, this is not going to end in a huge peace rally.

keepers. Minimally it would unite the world against them and more of
them would be driven out of their holes in the ground.....

Also do you know that the word 'crusade' is offensive to arabs? They have visions of 1200ad. Come on now...a peace rally? They party. Their music
and art could be there too. Their kids need something to hope for too.

On the otherhand if the secular government of Iraq were to enforce religious freedom, then the people of Iraq could host any kind of event they chose. Moslems, Jews, and Christians could unite to celebrate their independence or their constitution. Exactly my point. Start exercizing FREEDOM now.Make it happen do not hope for it. Or they could have a national day of mourning in memoriam to the 300,000+ murders under Saddam. No way... Remind them of their hurt and pain and evils when you are repenting a nation? They need to move forward and upward. Since we are all victims, we can be drawn together without compromising our beliefs.
The (grateful-Jerry)DEAD could rock their world....and that is the only time Dead should be mentioned.:priest:

Eldermike...death? Fatima 1917..Portuguese people were oppressed by a dictator and they had no hope... they were a lot like the people of IRAQ. Their country
once ruled the world too.For centuries. They had serious roots in Europe.. One day the sun did some amazing things and at least they knew why.....Peace came from GOD not armies...read up on it
