  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Back in the beginnings of the "Charismatic" church there was a lot of talk about Christian communes. The early church had to separate itself from the general population in communes. Does anyone else wonder if its time for conservative Christians to break off into communes? The conventional thinking is that we need to stay amongst the sinners in order to teach them about God but if you look at statistics once a person is beyond a certain age the odds of them becoming a Christian is very slim. We are actually getting close to severe persecution by non-believers. At what point do we do what the early church did and separate ourselves from them? I say this as much for the sake of the children who are being indoctrinated by the world system as for the adults.

Just food for thought. Not really serious at this point.

In the OT God did isolate His chosen people until Moses died. That was to reteach them after being in captivity for 400 yrs.

Nowhere in the NT did it show Jesus hiding out in some temple to keep from being persecuted or crucified. He went out there as bold as can be and continued to teach the people. This is our example if we are true followers of Jesus to go out and boldly teach and not hide away somewhere.

Take a good look at what communal living has done. It is not pretty. Look at David Kerish , Mormans and their multiple marriages, etc. They all thought that was the way to go and they have ended up in disaster one way or the other and they are very hard to escape from.

In communal living it is one person who rules and the others have to follow (brain washed)what ever laws are set down.

There is a lot to think about.

Hutterites come to mind when speaking of Christians living in community.

I'm all for a Christian militia, to be honest. There's worse things than trying to separate yourself from an increasingly secular society and associating with like-minded God-fearing Constitutionalists.

The Hutterites are a group within the Anabaptist tradition that practices a nonresistant peaceful faith~they're not a "Christian Militia" as one would typically define "militia".^_^
