  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My daughters are 13 and 14 and I am looking for any suggestions for a good book that they can read that goes along with either the king james version or the new king james version. They have read My first study bible and The beginners Bible some time back. They are intimidated by the big words in the bible and they want something that will be easier to read and study for their age group. Any suggestions?

I am 15 and just about EVERYBODY in my youth group reads the Life Aplication Bible NIV. I LOVE it! I'm a little confussed by you're question... not sure if you were looking for suggestions of reading books or bibles. Anyways thats the Bible that i would reccomend. My favorite reading book is actually a really small book that can be read in a few sittings. its "The Unquenchable Worshiper" by Matt Redman. It has changed my woship so much and has helped me understand the amazment of standing in the presence of the Lord almighty and worshiping Him. Both of your girls should read it!

Thank you God's cheergirl. I was actually looking for reading books and a study guide to go along with the bible. Sorry for the confusion. Like I said they find the big words in the Bible a little intimidating. So, I think they need a good study guide.

I will check out "The Unquenchable Worshiper" by Matt Redman.

Thanks!

If you are looking for fiction as well, check out The Adventures of Jecosan Tarres by Laura Lond (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1591605296); I'm not a parent, but I gave this book to some friends who homeschool their teenage kids, and the kids rave about it. I can't wait for Book 2 myself! :)
