I am a 22 year old female and new in my faith. Do you have any books you reccommend that aren't about the Amish? I looked at BAM and found a few that looked interesting but most I found were Amish stories. Thanks for any input! BTW I am looking for books that are fiction or any books that helped you grow in your faith!

I also am interested in some good Christian or faith-based books for 20somethings. I am not a new Christian, but I find that there is a lack of resources available that are appropriate for 20somethings, and they skip from youth/teen straight to marriage and parenting!

I'd recommend checking out the website Library Thing or Good Reads. You can find reviews of all sorts of books (including Christian ones) and even rate them yourself. If anyone has any specific suggestions, that's great, I just wanted to throw that out there because you'll find more books than anyone here could recommend.

Good luck!

Hi all, English major who loves threads like these here!

Below is my list:.

Under the Overpass by Mike Yankoski

This book is a great read about two Christian friends who decided to live homeless for a while. A eye-opening look at how the church treats the wanderer.

The Humanitarian Jesus edited by Christian Buckley

A compilation of interviews with Christian leaders in the social justice movement. A thought-provoking book that makes you think about many sides of current hot button issues in the church.

To Live 4, 2Die4, and Be Intolerant by Ryan Dobson

Great no-nonsense books on modern Christianity and what it means to follow Christ.

How Should We Then Live? by Francis Schaeffer

A crash course in Christian philosophy and history. A classic.

Jesus Among Other Gods by Ravi Zacharias

This book led me to Christ. Frank honest facts about the world's religions from a ex-Hindu.

Case for Christ by Lee Strobel

The second book that led me to Christ. An atheist lawyer's journey to disprove God, led him to Christ.

L'Abri by Edith Schaeffer

An account of one of the creation of a Christian commune, in Switzerland, that still exists today, to promote Biblical Christianity and apologetics.

Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris

A tough love look at modern teenage culture, and how to stop it (written by teenagers).

So Much More by Anna Sofia Botkin

Super-Conservative femininity explained.

The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom

Holocaust autobiography of a Christian woman who hid Jews during WWII, and survived a concentration camp.

Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis

The original "anti-religion" Christian text.
