"The Lord is my light and my Salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1.
The Lord is the strength of my life. That strength for living and power for living is my experiencing His faithfulness, and His showing me my need, and then my entering into the joy of being cleansed of my sin. I come face to face with this wonderful fact, that He is the strength of my life: and today and tomorrow and for all the tomorrows..... He is the strength of my life.
You will recall that just before He left His diciples Jesus said, "I am the way, the Truth, and the Life; no man comes to the Father except through me." Did you get those three things? "I am the Way......I am the Truth"...But He did not stop there; blessed be the Lord, He did not stop there. He being the truth would condemn me. He being the way would find me utterly unable to walk in it. But He being the life enables me to walk to the glory of God. He is the strength of my life.
Oh dear friend, the glory of Christianity is this - Christ liveth in me. Oh, believe it! It is the word of God. It is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me.
Christianity is nothing if it is not supernatural! If there is not a living Saviour, who comes to live in us, we may as well throw out the word of God as a fabrication of lies, and the whole story of the gospel as a hoax. But it is true! It is gloriously true. And in a limited and feeble way I stand to testify and say with the psalmist, "The Lord is the strength of my life" "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? "The LOrd is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid.
(Through 2013 I suffered from a cancerous growth."The most aggressive" I was told, "with only a 50% chance of operational success". But God is the strenght of my life" Hallalujah. Last year at this point in time, I was in a hospital surgical theatre.. To God be praise as I bring it to recall, 12 months later. The surgeon informes me "It has all gone!")
(Yesterday I scored 38 points in a stapleford round of golf. What? ) To God be Praise and Thanks.
Today 28th Friday Feb. I went for a rouind of golf and could see that I was in posotion number 4. Not bad shooting against over 60 players, young and old. To God be the glory, I thank Him.
