chosing a denomination

As you see, Nick, sometimes people have very passionate ideas on the "right" or "wrong" denomenation. What's of prime importance is that you study the Bible, pray over the decision, talk to those in various denomenations, and then decide what you should do--based upon what you believe God is telling you, not what any of us recommend. We can't tell you what God's will is for your life, other than pointing you to Him and His Word.

All those who have been given "faith" in Jesus Christ are the true church.

There are many denominations because those that have been "called" unto the kingdom of God must have a place to go to seek God.

They have not yet come "unto unity"

Jesus Christ is not divided.

The Holy Spirit only speaks one thing--truth.

All the Christian denom. hold part of the truth, and they also hold falsness.

When one is "annointed" by the Holy Spirit, they no longer need to be taught by "man" (1 john) and is taught by God himself.

True fellowship is only by Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

When one taught by God, by the Holy Spirit, then one does not "persecute" his brethren (1 John), knowing that they, IF they have a honest heart, will come unto "repentance" and be taught by God.

We are to "love" all the brethren,praying that they will come unto repentance and understanding of all the truth.

This does not mean that we don't speak truth, because it might offend the church, but we speak the truth, because we Do love the brethren and are willing to be persecuted for the sake of the Body of Christ, wanting All the church to be saved.

This does not mean that we "debate" or "argue" what we know, we speak and that is that, no argueing.

i pray that you continue to seek the truth diligently and love the truth above everything else.

Well, Im sorry if this is off-topic, but I see no point in having denominations. It separates the Christians! We should all be together as ONE!

My advice would be to just go to a new church every Sunday until you find one that has sound Bible preaching and one that you can feel comfortable with. Don't worry about what denomination it is as God does not look at denominations just what is in you heart. If you believe that Jesus died for your sins and you try to live a godly life then that's all that matters.
