Actually I just got a copy of Chosen but free.. so I haven't read both of these either.. though I do have a copy of Geisler's Systematic theology vlm. 3 which deals with Soteriology (salvation) and I don't really agree with Geisler. I think he's kind of a calminian, but I don't know for sure.. I have heard from some friends that his ideas on Salvation are "out there".. I'm interested in this book.. I'll let you know what I think when I finish it... which (with my workload and course-load right now) could be a long time coming...

White backs up everything he says with dissecting Scripture. He also quotes contextually from others, instead of spinning, though that has nothing to do with how well he used the Bible. :liturgy:
That's what I'm getting at, my brothers that have read Potter's Freedom have to give it to White even when they disagree with his position. Needless to say, I'm trying to get everyone in my (non calvinist) Baptist church to read it...the proof is in the puddin'.

So is ol'Norman's idea of soteriology just a little crazy or what?
Not crazy, but he does a good job of saying he's calminian but clearly he's Arminian. 'Some' of what he writes rings true or at least sounds like it could be true, if you never read White's book you'd probably accept CBF.

Read the book, it's not like his other works, which is why Dr. White wrote Potter's Freedom.

Yeah I know it's (CBF) is a direct rebuttal to the book. I don't think (only based on what I've heard) that I would accept Geisler's idea.. I will eventually read it. I've heard of an analogy that he uses dealing with a church and some signs inside and out... and interesting way to say it.. but I don't buy into it (again only from what I've heard and who knows how close that is to the real thing).

The guy that wrote the text for my evangelism course claims to be a calminian but when you really look at his stuff you realize that he's a calvinist... so I can understand what you're saying about Norm really being an arminian...
