To be honest, (and I am a cradle Orthodox, so I merely repeat) many people have related things as different in nature as reading a biography of a saint who had similar interests to their profession, or to their life circumstances, to visiting Churches and standing before relics or iconography and FEELING a connection. Others dream, others have suddenly smelled incense in a place no incense would be while mulling over a name.
BUT...remember that God is Wondrous in ALL His saints...no saint will "reject you" as an applicant. The reason we are given a new name that must be a saint's name is because the struggle to reach theosis is a life-long one, and we need the heavenly patronage and role models that they provide us.
In despairing moments, one can say "Well, Christ is my role-model, but it was easy for Him not to sin, or to despair, as He is God, and understands EVERYTHING, so He could make the right choices. I'm just a snivelling sinner, HOW can ~I~ ever finish the race?" That is when we can turn to our patron saints and ask their intercession...as they were as we are. Sinners, in many cases horribly so! However, they repented, believed, and in so doing show us that it is possible for our own miserable natures to reflect Christ's Glory as theirs did, and continue to do.
Too, many jurisdictions allow you to be christened with TWO names, if there is a reason. I have known a child who was born virtually blind to have been given the saint's name her parents first chose for her, PLUS that of St. Paraskevi, patron saint of eye ailments. She was baptized and is communed under both names. (I also have two names)
The important thing, though, is that you can pray to any saint you need to, and ask that they intercede for you before the Throne of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
And, no, I was not criticizing you for "stressing", just telling you that you do not need to know all at once, though the soul that is starving craves that spiritual information as a starving man craves food...but we all know it is better to eat just a little and absorb it than it is to stuff ourselves and not be able to retain it (sorry for that imagery).
Blessings be upon you!
