When in heaven, will we experience time as we do here on earth?  If not, for what will we use our resurrected bodies, and why all the pastoral imagery in the bible?  Will Space/Time be different?

If there is Space/Time as there is on earth, will we be able to make decisions that matter?  In other words, will there be cause and effect in heaven?   Also, where does free will come into play?  If we can make decisions, but every decision will be the correct one, will we really have a choice?

Either heaven will be a completely different experience/reality or it will be a place that will soon grow boring.

Assuming that the arguement will arise that heaven is where we will be focused completely on God's glory, let me ask this: Why did God create millions of other people as well as you?

I know I have a lot of questions, but I'm sure God has a lot of answers.  Maybe some of the Christians on this board can share their opinions on the issue.  All others are welcome to as well.

This is strictly my opinion, as there is no scripture to back it. I believe we will have jobs in Heaven. Things that we are responsible for. Not "jobs" as we have on earth, because if you are like me you don't love working lol. A job that we LOVE to do. Could be playing a musical instrument, couold be singing, or maybe fishing!!! WOOO HOO, I sure hope that's my job. I also think that there will be a lot of fellowship with those that are with us. Basically a place of love and fun times with a God that loves us and people that we love. I would write more but it is time for lunch, maybe I'll write more later :)

Blessings,

I don't know for sure either. I think the saved will live new eternal lives and pretty much do as they want to do. Having every need provided for. Much like Adam and Eve had but next time there will be no Satan.
God will give his faithful what he promised and originally intended.
It will be beautiful and joyful and best of all sharing it with God and Jesus where Satan and evil will be cast away forever out of spirit out of mind.
What I do know is, the Lord always keeps his word.

I agree with FOMWatts that we will all have something to do in heaven. I believe that time will pass diffently in heaven then we experience here on earth. How it will be different, I'm not sure. I think that time will pass fater in heaven than on earth. Have you seen the movie "What Dreams May Come" with Robbin Williams? I think that movie has a little bit of truth in it. You should check it out.

FOMWatts,
We will still be people with our own minds. When the Lord comes to pick us up on that day, we would be given new bodies, but our characters would be the same. This is a strong implication that we have to fit to be in heaven. When i think of this, it makes me really question myself time and again and it serves as a reminder to keep the faith and develop my character constantly. And because we will keep our minds, it means our choices are our own too. I believe that no one will dare to sin against God again, not because of fear, but because they have seen for themselves the horrible consequences of sin. They have a choice to sin but they would not go near it anymore.

But in actual fact, i strongly believe there are many things we are going to do in heaven. The main thing we are going to spend for eternity doing, is to discover the mysteries of the universe. Just think of the Angels, do you think they know God fully and understand His plans? In the same way, we will be doing likewise and visiting other worlds and planets, just discovering God's handiwork in them. I guess it might sound boring to a non-christian, but that would keep me occupied for the rest of eternity. That's one reason why unrighteous people are not permitted to heaven, coz they'll be bored by God's presence and His works anyway. So God in His great mercy, allowed them to suffer the consequences of the second death, where they will not have a taste of heaven.

Just my thoughts.

First, time was created for mankind. We cannot comprehend something that has no begining and no end. God has no begining and no end so what would He need time for? When we get to heaven there will be no time. You cannot equate time with eternity. As far as our "job" in heaven, I think in part it is the same one we have now-to praise Him. Any thing else will be revealed to us when we get there. I hope to see you there!
