Almost nothing will get done in 2020 during a presidential election year, other than the budget and debt fights (and compromises). The OPEN question is 2019.
============================
SOME GIVENS
1) There will definitely be investigations of the actions of Trump and his cabinet (past and present).
2) Many Trump people will go by year's end.
3) The judiciary will continue to move toward the right. There will be no stopping any nominations.
===========
CHOICES
A) The Democrats could put off the impeachment efforts until 2020, for maximum effect.
B) Trump could compromise and pass legislation on infrastructure, criminal justice reform, paid leave, minimum wage, pre-existing conditions, the wall, DACA, and/or comprehensive immigration. House Dems will be difficult to deal with on legislation, but likely not as difficult as House Republicans have been.
C) At very least, there will be several points where there must be compromise or the government will close down. There were compromises in 2017 and 2018 at theses times; they will happen again.
D) A middle class tax cut (a bad idea) could be proposed by Trump with the money coming from decreases in Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Why would the Dems ever agree to choice D?

To get things done; because it is somewhat of a tight house; as a result it really ( assuming the Republicans voted together would not take many to flip.

They would not. I did NOT say that they would, only that Trump would propose it.

The Bottom Line is that Trump can pass some legislation (with his name on it) in 2019.

Or Trump could decide to not have his name on it. That may make it a little easier to stick.

That's very optimistic. He could barely get legislation passed with both houses controlled by his party.

So the Dems are really between a rock and a hard place. If they go hard on the impeachment stuff constantly, they will alienate moderates and democrats who are right of Karl Marx (thus adding more growth to the #WalkAway movement). If they don't, they will alienate the radical voting base that they have created.

Have fun with that, Dems!

The only way his name is not on it is if he vetos it and his veto is overridden.

no There are plenty of bills presidents have passed that have not had their names on them.
A bill does not become law without the president signing it unless his veto is overridden. His name is on all the bills that pass.

These fantasies are adorable!

Growth in #walkaway - what, have they found more stock photos to use or something?
Democrats to the left of Karl Marx? Radical voting base?

This is terrific fan fiction. Keep up the good work.
