I was up early today, felt much better, the sore throat thing is better, I don't know why I have been feeling so bad with the throat, that is not normal for me.

I also managed to burn something on the stove...hubby will not be happy...I was looking at the pc, instead of cooking. My poor house really stinks this time with the burned smell. Haven't tried to clean the pot yet...maybe "he" will do it for me.

Snap!!!!

I took Mary to her daughter's this afternoon

Surmising she would soon be home
I began bolognese for Tea only to find we have no sauce in the cupboard
so, at 7.50pm I phone Joanna's [Mary answered]
and asked them to fetch a jar of sauce and bring it home with them
Like 35 minutes ago... am keeping the mince and onions HOT
and suddenly the fire/smoke alarms go off ...some onion has toasted on the side of the pan
Now headed toward 8.30pm ...she has enjoyed five hours of family company
and I wish, I had staved-off my hunger with a piece of toast LOL
The fusili will be mash by the time the 'other-half' gets home

It doesn't just 'rain' here ... Here's to the rescue of the meal

:)

Oh no  Hugs to you both   That's tough!
I just made whole grain steel cut oats; I make a double batch then freeze serving sizes to heat up.
Thankfully it didn't boil over or burn ...then again I was right there the whole time doing spiritual reading :D

The past 2 days have been a time of renewal for me ~
I have been more recollected and prayerful; making greater efforts to exercise and eat well (to rebuild 'His temple'), turning off the PC by 10PM and reading/praying before bedtime (11-12MN). :holy:

Today was fun actually...because it was so messy outside, I put on some rock music, and hopped on the treadmill for 30 min; then I did some light weights for strength.
I usually walk with Penny for 20 min and should add 20 of that in per day as well (weights 3x/week)
I pray I keep it up as as 'lifestyle' ; so often good intentions get set aside by a a change in schedule or eating out. :sorry:

Hubby and I pulled out the QIGONG CD last night; I hope to do that daily as well!
The deep breathing exercises are so calming, great for the lungs, and helps detox your system too.

Speaking of that.....I best go do it! BBL

@ 30lbs, Rusty is 'some' heavy lapdog :p
@ 40lbs, Teddy seems heavier when he is sleeping
@ 17 years now, Rolo, can no longer jump up onto the settee [couch]
and is sometimes, knocked off-balance, by the exuberance, of the other two
He has always, been a very loving and happy dog
and we are watching-him CLOSELY as his ancient body ages further
we have no wish, to oversee him undergoing any suffering
We pray, that when, his time comes, he passes peacefully, in his sleep
He deserves, not to, have-to 'suffer', a prolonged /painful end

He has cysts, but as these do not yet trouble him we feel
that surgery so late in his life will be the end of him anyway

I know that you love your pets, and so do my wife and I. It hasn't been that long ago that we let a vet talk us into cancer surgery and chemo for two very elderly dogs. We'll never do it again and have learned our lesson. We would never want to watch such suffering again, and we now believe that love is many times letting or helping them die peacefully. One was 16 and the other was 18, so we should have had more sense. Our common sense was overshadowed by our love for them.

I think vets can be very persuasive...sometimes wrongly so...but letting the old ones or sick ones leave in peace is loving a pet.

Yup I can be ecclectic for sure ~ going from chant to rock :sorry:

Actually .....I only plug in a rock CD now and then (once every few months at best) to renew my 'youthful spirit'.

This was just an idea to get me moving on the treadmill (vs dancing) ;)
And yes...like the kids always protest...I LOVE the MUSIC but don't even listen to the words...really :D

99% of every day I spend in silence...not even the tv gets turned on (until hubby comes home).

In the car that I ONLY play CHRISTIAN CDS.

I am a very contemplative spirit...99% of the time :holy:

Awwww Bro' Tom
Yes, life, certainly does hold, some very-tough lessons for us all

God gave us 'dominion over the beasts'
This means, that we also adopt stewardship, of our charges

While we are not allowed to do similar to humans
We can, with the best of intentions and a heart full of love
prevent suffering / further suffering of, our beloved pets

For sure we are watching Rolo very-carefully
I have on several occasions
raised Rolo to his feet, having found him splayed out
and unable to bring his legs under himself
We know he won't be with us for very much longer
and he is 'very-clingy' when being petted as if to say
"thank you for being my keepers, I love you"
I think he knows too! just how aged, he is now become

It is only too easy for vets to drum up a little-more 'pin-money'
by extending the hand of hope /cure... having foreknowledge of, the downward spiral
that is, the true prospect, for our pet
I do not feel it high-handed [of me] nor my playing God, with my pet's comfort
I want them all, to have a good and pain-free life
and it is, in my power, to prevent suffering and retain a good and clean conscience
Yes, I can let them go in peace and it will break my heart
but, I love them enough to care and want them to enjoy, their time with me

I'm sorry Dave, but this was just very fun to read...
hope you got yourself fed. :D

As it happens, I left the fusili in the pan [heat off] with the lid on

The frying pan contains a copper disc clad in stainless steel
and I managed to keep the beef mince, onions and spices 'hot]
Mary arrived after 8.30pm with the sauce
extending the cooking time, to one hour 18 minutes

Mary did mention her fusili was "cold"
but, I blamed her for popping off to the bathroom while I served
[It was hot, when served] really!!!

It wasn't as bad as I had dreaded it becoming... I should have had more faith
 'He won't let His beloved fall'
I also got my "kiss _thank you, that was nice" :bless: her
:D
A good meal

I think vets can be very persuasive...sometimes wrongly so...
but letting the old ones or sick ones leave in peace is loving a pet.

Yes I agree, 'wholeheartedly' with what you say here, Shirley Sis'

Have fun! :)
I will be going out to dinner with hubby after Church this evening.
A belated birthday celebration due to him being sick last week and the storm that day.

I am glad he is better...I wore myself out today, but it was good to be out of the house for a while...now, rest will be at the top of my list tomorrow.
