Have a blessed week everyone
I can't wait, sure is hard to believe that Spring is on the way here, why, we still have a lot of snow in the yards, and ice on the sidewalks at night, ugh. Can you believe it, the passes are under another snow warning tonight, gee.

Sorry I missed saying hi to Ley on the end of the old thread. I am away from home and just haven't been getting on the computer as often.
My thoughts and prayers are for Japan and the people and my niece who is over there. I had not heard anything about problems with tsunami waves in B.C. 's Vancouver Island. i am down south in phoenix for another week. it is very hot today will get up to 90 but then cool off on Saturday.

We still have thick ice on the lake but the shore lines are opening up
Today we started out freezing with a wontry mix, then it warmed to 40 and we now have torrential rain.

The snow pack is dwindling, though it is still deep in the back woods.

We are keeping our eyes open...the bears are out of hibernation and were spotted a couple of towns over from us. :D

4 days until SPRING  the longer days are lovely!!

Enjoy AZ Jan

I was in facebook, earlier this afternoon
and whilst chatting with a niece over the content of some members posts,
that has led me to delete them from my friends list...
so that, young children [family members, mine and Mary's]
would not see the depravity and obscenities being published in my news feed
and because they too, are, in my friends list
My niece challenged me and my 'right' to deny people their right,
to behave as they wished

I did 'try' to get her to see that my pages were being despoiled against my wishes
but she and a nephew of mine...insisted that the adults were free to behave
as they wished and that it was the parents of the children [under 13]
that had responsibility to protect their children
[ "facebook is an adult site/no under 13's allowed" ]

My niece, accused me of dictating how she, should behave and told me
to "go preach elsewhere" [via message box] as soon as she had learned of,
her having been deleted from, my friends list

While we are, none of us, yet 'perfect' we do have-to [must] change,
whatever we can, for the better, we must not 'ignore' the evil that others do
when they do so, in full knowledge, that it is:
'naughty', 'wrong', 'anti-social', 'criminal', 'abusive' 'sinful'

Today, I removed 'three' family members [extended family] from my friends list
My daughter Miranda, who, remains able to read their status comments
urged me to rethink my decision,
but, after hearing me out did comfort me and told me that she loved me
and didn't want me to be upset, because of, them

Lord, I pray, that my actions today, will linger in the minds of those involved
that their thoughts and hearts be troubled that I have
taken such steps, to admonish their behaviour
and prevent their having adverse affect, upon not only the children
but also the adults able to read their posts
as a result of their friendship, with me

Lord, I ask that that you strengthen my wit and place your words upon my tongue,
such that your will and your purpose is fulfilled in me and in these persons
In Jesus' name, this I pray
amen

Hello Brother Dave,

I know very little about FaceBook, even though my wife has a page. I think that I understand what you had to do today, and I support you 100%. The time does come when we have to stand up for right and against wrong. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. We do have a living testimony for our Lord and Saviour, and He must come first.

I really enjoyed your pictures. Thanks for sharing. I've said for many years that - one of these days I'm going to get a really good camera and take nice pictures. That day hasn't come yet because of money. It seems like something always breaks or other necessities come up.

I used to do outdoor photography, then I became ill...AND my SLR camera broke :(
I cannot hike like I used to and cannot rationalize the cost of a digital with a zoom at this point.

So I am resolved to 'capture nature with my heart' when I see it...MEMORIES you can NEVER erase
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.~~

I love this little guy missms. I am of irish decent on my maternal grandmothers side and maybe my paternal grandfathers side although they settled in Missouri and history is sketchy. Love the dancing and music.

an email that I received today

I enjoyed this email and wanted to share it.

"I WISH YOU ENOUGH"
...

Recently I overheard a Father and daughter in their last moments together at the airport.
They had announced the departure.
Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the Father said,
'I love you, and I wish you enough.'

The daughter replied,
'Dad, our life together has been more than enough.
Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Dad.'

They kissed and the daughter left.
The Father walked over to the window where I was seated.
Standing there I could see he wanted and needed to cry.
I tried not to intrude on his privacy, but he welcomed me in by asking,
'Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?'

'Yes, I have,' I replied.
'Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?'

'I am old, and she lives so far away.
I have challenges ahead and the reality is - the next trip back
will be for my funeral,' he said.

'When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say,
'I wish you enough.' May I ask what that means?'

He began to smile.
'That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations.
My parents used to say it to everyone...'
He paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail, and he smiled even more.
'When we said, 'I wish you enough,' we were wanting the other person
to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them.'
Then turning toward me, he shared the following
as if he were reciting it from memory.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

He then began to cry and walked away.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person,
an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them;
but then an entire life to forget them.

* Only if you wish,
send this to the people you will never forget
and remember to send it back to the person who sent it to you.
If you don't send it to anyone
it may mean that you are in such a hurry
that you have forgotten your friends.

TAKE TIME TO LIVE....

To all my friends and loved ones,

I WISH YOU ENOUGH.
