We live in an apartment, so, the mino-garden is an interesting idea. As I child, I had a love of growing flowers, because of both of my grandmothers.

Michael

It doesn't take up much space, and they are very efficient if you water with Miracle-Grow. Our little mini-herb garden is about 14" x 8" - about 3 inches deep - and has a plastic dome for a top. The planting media is little peat blocks that expand after watering them for the first time. You put 3 or more seeds per peat block to start off and thin the plants if needed after they get growing. The neat part I'm looking forward to is having fresh herbs year around. The plastic dome only adds about 4 inches of depth, so we might have to remove it after things get going well. AND, we'll transplant the larger, healthy plants to outside. We're still looking for a more substantial pot that we can move in and out of the house. We came to find out that things like this sell out pretty quickly if they are reasonably priced. We would be willing to spend up to $60 for a more permanent pot.

Linda and I spent the day yesterday at a camp with two of our adult children, their spouses, and their children. We're not campers, but, the day trip was fun. I understand the appeal of spending time outside, but, if I were into camping, it wouldn't be in campers cramed closer together than houses in a crowded neighborhood!

Ah well, to each their own!

I'll try to get back here sometime today. Ran out of time this morning. I'm off to work!
Have a good day!

I am off to spend the day at a Relay for Life Cancer Walk (being held the next 2 days) with my sisters. :)

It will be sad without Mom there :(
Ironically she was a 5 year cancer survivor!
I will be walking in her place

Please pray for all involved, and all loved ones no longer with us

Have a blessed day

Thanks KayKay  It is perfect weather
In the past we have endured a deluge and t-storms!

Ours has the biggest turnout in the country
The American Cancer Society - 2010 Relay For Life of the Greater Gardner Area:

The event is pretty moving when you see the survivors take a lap around the track :cry:then there is the luminaria ceremony and hour of silence when it turns dark...as we remember those who have lost their battle to cancer.

But the amount raised for research is amazing, and gives such HOPE  and survivors are encouraged to continue to battle for a cure
This year we are CELEBRATING LIFE (each year there is a specific theme).

We have had a team for 14 years; I actually started the year before that, in '95 when I was with the Visiting nurses and doing Hospice.
I am so grateful for my renewed health (thank God!) other years I could not walk because of my serious illnesses.

Well, I better get moving...there is lots to help with before the opening ceremony at 6pm :D

Cya later

It sounds like everyone is busy and having a good time.

Me, I'm about to cook for my wife, and she said that she's brave enough to eat it.

I wish everyone a GREAT WEEKEND!

WE are always small but even though some were away it wan't a bad turnout. Good service. Went up for prayer as I have been experiencing anxiety the last few days, waking up early and stuff. I know God is faithful and I will be fine..but I wasn't the only one with the problem so maybe it is an attack from the enemy.
