  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everyone. It looks like we might see a bit of sun today. It was so overcast and wet yesterday that I felt physicallly ill and spiritually oppressed. Perhaps that wasn't just from the rain but all together it made for not the greatest birthday day for me. I am expecting a better day today. Jan

Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life."

"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested. "Yes, it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood.
The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life
."

I reflected on what Jerry said.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body.

I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?"

But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, 'He's a dead man.' "I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry.

"She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes,' I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breathe and yelled, 'Bullets!' Over their laughter, I told them. 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead." Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything.

Hi all. Today I had to get up early and go for a very interesting medical test. Virtual Colonoscopy. All yesterday was taken up with the prep for the test. The test is done with the CT scanner and although CT sacanning in iteself is not painful other parts of the test were most unpleasant. :( I am glad it is over and I had a chance to have a bit of a nap afterward. Now the Weekend beckons. :) Jan

Yes we had a lovely day Jan, thank you

The heavy rain, just before we left home to meet the coach
'dampened' our spirits for what was to come
and we both prayed for the sun to shine during the trip

By the time we were ready to leave
the streets were drying under a clearing sky
The warmth dried up all the rain and the sun, shone all day

250 pics have-now, been uploaded to photobucket

Today I have 'sorted' 40 pics for Mary to send
to her friend 'Pat' who, lives in Alabama
These, were from our previous trip [Cleveleys, near Blackpool]

I will show a few pics below this of, our journey there

but, as it has been a long day for me today

I will display more tomorrow ;)

Hello and good morning to you Jan

Another late NIGHT for you I see ;)

Yes it is ! Blackpool is the largest resort in the North West of England

Mary and I and the rest of the group
had a ride on THE GHOST TRAIN
and shared a meal together at a local restaurant
before wandering around sightseeing

I have just under a 100 more pics to send to photobucket
before showing, some mounted policemen and policewoman
and some beach pics
also, some aerial acrobatics and gliding by seagulls
and some snaps of the waves at the beach wall [still, under construction]

Wow, Dave, those are some great pictures.

Thank you missdance'

I am pleased to show you these sights
words alone would fail to adequately describe our day

Blessed, by wonderful sunshine and no rain at all
until, long after our return home
Praise the Lord, who, hath made all things

I love to travel. We used to take 3 weeks for vacations when I was a kid. It was so much fun exploring different places.
Can't wait to see more of your trips. But for now, I must say good night!

Hi friends, back from visiting friends at the shore. Nice weather and a great visit to a fishing town in the area. I feel relaxed and so blessed for the opportunity to spend time with friends and enjoy the beach.

That sounds like a lot of fun buttercup2000. I went to the Renn Faire for the 2nd time this year with Kittystorm. It was a crowd of people including a family who brought a 2 week old baby boy. That just made me upset that parents would take such a little baby to an outside place wit thousands of people and bugs and also the sun. there is a lot of nutty people in this world!

Nice to hear about your escapes guys. Dave I enjoyed the pictures. It brought back memories of my 2004 trip to England and Scotland. We didn't get our sun yesterday for the outdoor BBQ at church but I think it was better that we did the play inside. I don't think voices would have carried well enough outside especially the key role which was the girl witnessing to someone at the bus stop. I was happy with it I remembered all my lines. If I can get hold of some picute of the event I shall post them. We had the BBQ's under tents in the parking lot and although we couldn't do the games planned I had a great time good food. Jan
