  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The only World's Fair I ever attended was Expo 86 and that is because I live in Vancouver. It was fun fun fun.
. Jan
Hi Jan
I wonder if we could have 'passed' :) one another,
as we were there at World's Fair Expo'86 in Vancouver then also.

Tho, I was mostly sick, so we headed back home after 3-days.

Over my lifetime I have been to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA more times than I can count, but this trip has brought me closer to each and every family member than ever before. My little digital camera has been clicking away continously with nearly 1000 pictures taken so far and one last long day to go.
[I have also downloaded into my laptop all of the many pictures taken by my son-in-law thus almost doubling the number.]

God has truly blessed me and mine.
Hi Amadeus

Yes indeedy - GOD has richly  Blessed you  and your family. So -

when :D are you gonna share... a few of your 2000-pictures, with us, on your return.

Isn't the weather getting lovely?
I hope everyone is having some R&R plus enjoying family and friends.

Yesterday was sooooo crazy..
MY PC WOULDN'T WORK AT ALL. so I just turned that thing over my knee and gave it a good old fashioned spanking......What did I have to lose at that point...Guess what??????????? IT WORKED. LOL
I am shameful that I don't like to be without the pc, we depend on it for so much.

State Faire however, I have enjoyed many...Washington State fair in Pyuallup Washington is outstanding if you ever get to travel there. They have an awesome draft horse / wagon pulling team competion and show. I just like visiting all the animal barns and getting eye to eye with the horses and watching some baby cows come into the world. That is in September. ....
As for Disnyland....I wish I could do it again.
Hi Spring

GOD Bless you, for helping your "grandma" such Blessings, we each would do well to avail ourselves of.

re: "PC over my knee and gave it a good old fashioned spanking...Guess what??? IT WORKED. LOL" :D
(that reminds me
about "spanking kids, erm human children - I am mostly adverse to that.
99+% of the time, I am sure GOD-Praising... ways exist of *imprinting* children. Do you agree?)

Ditto about the Puyallup... Fair :p , and
we've been to Disneyland 3 times; and Disney World over 5 times.

GLAD you are enjoying... and continue... so, the blessings of *SPRING* :) Annie

Annie I guess it is possible. I went quite a few times. I only bought a three day pass but I was able to go as my disabled sons attendant a few more times. My oldest son played his violin there with a group of Suzuki students. In retrospect it would have been good to buy a full season pass, many did and would head down to enjoy an evening of special music or dinner at one of the many great restaurants. Especially nice was the area that specialized in canadiana cultural stuff but I can't remember the name of the pavillion it was a pretty open area and there werelots of pioneer activities , first nations food demonstrations etc. I loved it. Good evening all. Just got home from the 6th yr old birthday party for my grandson. Had a really nice time. He got a lot of cool stuff.
Now I'm home again doing the laundry for the week. I sure could use another day to the weekend.

Hey Jan and Annie, my laptop started up again twice today.........it is amazing yes? Although I must begin immediately to prepare for the financial savings to allow for a new one in the near nuture maybe.

My choice of words to include a "spanking" of course were for dramatic entertainment...actually I made a fist and gave it good pounding........LOL

Annie, I am in full agreement with you regarding "spanking" of children.

Tom and I arrive here after midnight. Today we went to the hospital to visit "Grandma" this is my mother-in-law. We had a quick introduction into the situation as it is. Have you heard of Sundowners Syndrom....this is totally new to me. I have so much to learn and it starts now. It is so sad to see this woman I have always loved hallucinating and wanting me to take her home. The hospital is not ready to release her yet so I have a little time here to get ready, which includes freshening up her bedroom, including carpets.

Jan, Missouri is a lovely state full of big Oak Trees mostly but steamy with hot humidity and I got a tic during the first 24 hours here.

Miss says "Welcome Home" yes there is a lot of life and memories here and it is much easier to look them in the face and say...this is not about me...it is not about the past..it is about doing something beautiful for God. And for sure it is not home to me....for being with my Heavenly Father is the only home I yearn to go to eventually.

Annie, I will be thinking of you come September when the Puyallup is in full swing. There is a nice entertainment center in Missouri called Branson....has anybody been there? The shows are GREAT. We went there only once but it was memorable...Tom and I rode jet skies on the lake and it was thrilling. OH yes, forgot to tell you...The Ozarks was our honeymoon location some 43 years ago. Now I'm lucky to get dinner out LOL

Edit: and yet another tic....SOL (screaming out loud)

Good Morning everyone. HOpe your Monday is going smoothly.

Same to you, miss. Glad the birthday party was a success!

About the "spanked" computer, :D my husband does computer support for a living (he's a regular geek;).) One time I found this coffee mug I got him which has a picture of a guy pulling out a gun & shooting his computer! At least, yours just got a "spanking!" Computers are soooo frustrating at times.

Hi y'all... I received this email Mary got from her friend last-evening

You may have had this b4 love
Subject:
Fw: Beautiful Photos Why God allows pain

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen...
a1.jpg

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.

As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God,
the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."
a2.jpg

Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
a3.jpg

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment,
but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
a4.jpg

after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street
with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer turned back
and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
You know what? Barbers do not exist."
How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.
I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
a5.jpg

Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."
a6.jpg

If you think God exists, send this to other people---
If you think God does not exist, delete it!
a7.jpg

BE BLESSED & BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS !!!!!!!

"You can learn new things at any time in your life if you're willing to be a beginner.
If you actually learn to like being a beginner, the whole world opens up to you."

We had a visit from the local council gas contractor today

He came to inspect our Gas facilities > to see if, they complied-with
the latest gas safety standards

LOL.... he condemned our gas cooker/ disconnected it from the supply
and stuck a notice to it DO NOT USE.... FAULTY / DANGEROUS

So! the burners WERE a little-melted in places

anyway we just have microwaves for our cooking here at the moment :(
I will have to build a barbecue in the back garden for boiling veggies/ rice

We have had a look at cookers in the shop today
£300 / $600 for fairly modest ones too

:(:(

I may have to register myself as a charity :D:D:D:D:D:D

oh dave so sad to hear about this we had an extra unexpected cost heaped on us this week as well. God has promised to supply our needs (the Lord is my Shepherd I shall not want) so I believe He will come through for you somehow. Jan

Change is not usually liked very well as peope get older, but As we know the good Lord will change us to be more like Him at any natural age.

Hopefully, your Change, Brother Dave, will end as much to the good as it presently appears that it will be...

CHANGE

is a continuously-progressive [sometimes regressive] amendment/ alteration
to the presently-established/ present-scenario

I have a change, up and coming, on June 3rd

This is when I alter to my new phone provider

because... for, twice the line rental that I paid for the old one
I get FREE landline calls and calls to prescribed mobiles
ie: inland and prescribed international calls [at anytime]
and
will get FREE Broadband connection
at the same bandwidth as, I presently have BUT with no DOWNLOAD LIMITS

Presently I pay: £10/ $20 per month for phone line rental
and pay calls on top of that
last bills show that our calls cost @ £20/ $40 per month

My Broadband [with Orange.co.uk] cost me a further £17.99/ $35 per month

So, this change has-benefits
in-form, expenditure reduction, without loss of, access
I am as yet unaware of a downside to this 'move'

I will however let you know just HOW 'talk-talk' perform for me
and yes....
I can always move again [after the 18 months contract expires]
sine-die

Thanks gratefulgrace! I did have a good time but am home again.

On World's Fairs you're one up on me. It now seems unlikely that I will ever attend one unless it happens to be very close to where I am going anyway...

Hi Missdancerama hope you had a lovely evening. The only World's Fair I ever attended was Expo 86 and that is because I live in Vancouver. It was fun fun fun. I remember hearing about the Seattle Worlds Fair though I think I was 12 or so at the time. We lived just a bit too far away to make going worthwhile.
I am glad you are enjoying your holiday Amadeus. Nite nite to all see you tomorrow. Jan

After the apparently terrible weather in Ponca City OK while we were on vacation, it has been clear and in the 90"s every day since arriving home. There was a very early morning severe thunder storm on Sunday morning, but by the time we were leaving for Sunday service the sun was peeking though. Even that day it climbed up into the 80's during the afternoon.

You passed very close Springrain! Blue Srpings, KS is only about 80 miles from me and even closer to Caldwell, KS where my dentist is. My only son lives in Arkansas City KS which also may have been along your route.

It is truly a very "small world" isn't it? By the way I did ride that ride in Disney World. It seemed to be a replica of the one in Anaheim.

Chat looks busy busy busy here. Isn't the weather getting lovely?
I hope eveyone is having some R&R plus enjoying family and friends.

I had a great day today but yesterday was a tough day for this prayer warrior...stess one on top of another. Well, I thought of all of you and how important your prayers are for me and how important it is for me to keep praying for you too even during my own trials. Thank You for prayers..they are still much needed.

Yesterday was sooooo crazy..Tom and I both getting physically and mentally exhausted. This trip is like intense physical therapy. Then my laptop computer's hard drive had a really bad day. MY PC WOULDN'T WORK AT ALL. My trouble shooting guide suggested I open the door and give the hard drive a little shake if it wouldn't spin. I had no tool small enough to open thescrews on the little door so I just turned that thing over my knee and gave it a good old fashioned spanking......What did I have to lose at that point...Guess what??????????? IT WORKED. LOL Now I don't know how may more days this hard drive will be last. Even when I shut down tonight it may be for the last time. I immediatedly backed up my files on an external hard drive. I stay well equiped with all my pc stuff iinside the rv including a desktop pc. I am shamful that I dont like to be without the pc, we depend on it for so much.

I am passing thu Blue Spings Kansas (driving) at this moment with four hours to go to reach our destination in Missouri. Grandma has been in safe hands at the hospital. They are dependant on our arrival to release her to home. No diagnosis as yet, just more and more tests but she is not in intensive care. She has one of those legs that looks swollen and hard. Please pray for her. Thanks ya all.

I was telling Dave in a PM how cool this Mobil Broadband technology is...very reliable accept when we passed through mountains but you would expect that..same as your cell phone service.

I read back on the post but I couldn't see how the conversation of World Fairs got underway so I shall not comment. That is in September. ....As for Disnyland....I wish I could do it again.
