• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sounds like a big trip Spring
Prayers will go with you.

Here is a little thought that a friend emailed to me today figured I would share it.
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bibles like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we travelled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Jan

Well, I have a Bible in my purse, another in my car, another in the hall bench where I sit and meditate (if you look at my homepage, I am sitting on "my bench"), and still another I study out of.

I flip through my Bibles several times a day.

I give them as gifts.

If I find I've left home without my Bible, I go back and get it.

I give Bibles as gifts, to my kids, to others...

I go to it when I am upset, or need comfort or encouragement.

I always travel with a Bible...

I love my Bibles. Most of them are tattered and torn and falling apart--but I love my Bibles. I am so grateful to our Father Who has not only saved us, but also revealed Himself to us in His Word. He is so AWESOME.

Its been a busy day and when I got home from work my internet was down for a bit and computer acting up. I did a scan and then got distracted watching a movie and doing Wii Fitness with my son. It was fun. Good nite for now. Jan

That is great I mostly just have mine by my bedside table. I should put my little Gideon in my purse. Sorry to hear you had a tough day Ariel hope it is nothing really serious. You don't strike me as a person who gets discouraged easily. Prayers for a God's peace in the situation. Jan

I am coming to you from Oregon at the moment. We were able to put things in order and get underway ASAP today. Of course some trouble started with the RV from wind and DH had to do some fixer-up to keep us able to keep going. The RV will have to go in shop when we get to our destination. My anxiety was so high before we left. You can imagine me praying my way along, Bible, Psalm 27, My Rosary, Divin Mercy Chaplet and my prayerbook. ooops sorry, forgot to put some Holy Water in my purse. Dear Hubby asked me to hold a flash light while he did the fixer-upper but I stayed in the truck praying he would be protected from falling fall off the makeshift ladder which was the tailgate of his truck while he just pulled into a shopping mall parking lot after close. I have to admite I am missing the hermitage...shed some tears over that when we left. I'm not used to this world out here. We stoped for fuel and I decided to go inside this little store....I was surprised to see two women argueing and the one was inviting the other to "step out" to the parking lot. This is not a way of life I am used to. I really need your prayers...we have many miles to go.

Ariel, I am sad to see you feeling down. But I give you credit for saying so. I never like to tell when I am down and yet it is far more often than anyone here might expect. You are always there to pray for others and when I asked for prayer you were right there in a flash to respond to my request. May it warm your heart to know that I am praying for your right here and now before I turn out the lights to sleep.

I've been thinking how I should bless my mother in laws house after I get there. Any ideas?

Dave, Jan, Buttercup, Spring--thank you all so much for your prayers. It always amazes me how the Lord can make all things good. He is so gracious!

Spring, I am praying for you right now, for the blood of Jesus to cover you and your husband, and for a hedge of protection around you. Father, let Your mighty warrior angels be around my sister now, and let this trip be protected and blessed. Father, I pray for Your goodness when she gets to her MIL's house as well, for Your mercy, grace and peace on every person, and for Your wisdom. Let Your presence and blessing be on all that family, in Jesus name I pray.

Spring, I was thinking as I was praying how Jesus said to greet a household and let your peace come upon it, Matt. 10:12-13. Later in the Gospels, Paul, Peter and John start their letters by speaking peace, grace and mercy on their hearers. I believe this blessing is still available to us today as we read the Bible. I also believe we can greet the households we enter, speaking peace, grace and mercy upon them--even before we enter that home. Of course, I also do some warfare--binding demons and forbidding them from operating against me, Matt. 18:18. Take this to the Lord and see if this witnesses to you in your spirit. Be blessed, dear one. I will be praying for you today.

'HOME, IS WHERE THE HEART IS'

and, as there is, no-way, you could NOT GO ?
I pray, that you will overcome all unforeseen trials
and aqquit yourself, unto the depth of, your conscience/ heart's content

Go, and 'arrive' with the Lord's Peace and His, everlasting arms around you

'Love, conquers all'

You, CAN do-this ! for, it is the Spirit in your soul that leads you

Good Morning all Missdancerama 5:30 am is indeed a very early rising time. I have a co worker who gets up between 5:15 and 5:30 am every morning and goes for a walk with her dog for an hour then comes back showers has coffee and gets lots of housework done before she arrives at work. She is DEFINITELY a morning person. 5 am is just the middle of the night to me. lol
I have a few minutes before work this am as it is late start for me. I am not sure what I will do when we lose that next school year. Our schedule is changing for next term starting in September and start will be 8:30 am every day. I really enjoy this quiet time on Wednesdays to putter around the kitchen, check the computer, have my coffee and start the day slowly.
Spring I will be remembering you as you journey. I think I know how you feel I always get very tense at the start of a trip especially a driving one even though I usually don't have to drive thank heavens. Mostly we fly now but I used to always have to take something for nausea when I travelled due to motion sickness and just the amount of planning and organization it takes to get away makes me a bit crazy. (Getting my disabled son squared away either as a guest on the journey with us or esconced in his respite situation is huge)
Ariel and dave I appreciate your words of wisdom and I do hope things are brighter today Ariel or if not that you are resting in the peace of God.
ta ta for now to all. Oh for all who remember I connected with Bartony yesterday. Jan

I'm really enjoying this vacation, a once in a lifetime thing for me and my wife, our unmarried son (age 35), and our daughter along with her husband and three children. nevertheless, the 8 of us are staying in a condominium and it's bit tight. Getting home again to a little more privacy as well as peace and quiet will be good!

That is a lovely place. When I was a child my family used to take 3wks vacation and we would drive from Illinois all the way to the west coast. I have relatives who live in Washington State, and Oregon. We'd take the Northern route out there and the southern route back home. It was great. Was a lot of the USA.

Yes, miss, me too... best memories are of those trips with Dad. Some of the funniest stories too but definitly wonderful memories of him when he was having a good time. My dad liked Florida so every summer it was off to the sunny beaches of the Gold Coast. I liked it but not the sunburns I had to endure. Mom was so good to buy me a fresh new jar of Noxeema.

That was way back in 1962 the year of Seattle's World's Fair. We had 3 adults and 3 kids all in a chevy wagon. Us kids would collect things along the way. Like placemats from restrauants, tickets from shows we saw, postcards. Everynight before we would go to bed, we had to write a short story on what we had done that day and what we saw. When we got home my Mom would help us make a scrapebrook for keeping. I think I still have that book in my attic.
