Keeptrying and I are both participating in a dress-up contest where the theme is "coffee!" I took a different approach but in RL, that's not far off the mark of how I look in the morning too!! I think she should win the contest, though, hands down! LOl!

and am looking now at ways to do this

in the above case
I highlighted the words "I would appreciate a shortcut"

and, whilst it was highlighted
I right clicked it and selected Make a Shortcut
I was asked
did I want to paste a copy of the shortcut to my desktop
I said YES
I went to the shortcut on my desktop
right-clicked it and selected Properties
There on the properties page, I copied the url
by highlighting it right-clicking it and selecting COPY

Next I came to the post and pasted it in

To create a shorcut TO SOMEONE ELSES TEXT

FIRST click on QUOTE as if you were going to quote it in a message

Highlight the text you want to create a shortcut to

Create the shortcut and have it placed on your desktop
discard.... the opened QUOTE WINDOW
get the url
from the properties page of the shortcut on your desktop
and PASTE IT in your message

open the message as if to quote the whole thing
INSTEAD
Highlight ONLY the text you wish to quote
and right click to make a shortcut
open the properties page of the shorcut [right click and select PROPERTIES
copy the url and close the quote window

go to message and paste the url

Sorry--I tend to go to German when I can't do something--

I'm just not getting the "short cut" option with my mouse. I'm not sure why. I click properties instead, and it tells me that the message is in English.

Okay .... did you.... click on QUOTE button?

did you see a new message panel with the words enclosed in [quotes]

did you highlight the text you wanted inside the [quote ]************ [ /quote]

did you right click the highlighted text

when you did .... did you see a small menu

in the menu list ... did you see make a shortcut

were you able to have it pasted to your desktop
