I'm a little sad right now.
I got a phone call about two hours ago from a young woman asking if I had any puppies left. After a few seconds of hesitation, I told her about the only one left, fat black jack, making sure to fine tune his better points. She listened politely and then told me that her father had to put his dog of fifteen years down on friday and that same day, the doctors told her mom she only had about two months to live with the cancer that came back after two years of remission. She said her dad was lost.I told her where I live, and after I hung up, I immediately went outside and got jack. I brought him in the house and sat on the floor with him and started brushing his thick coat. I talked to him for about thirty minutes while he laid there loving the brushing. Or maybe it was the talk, I don't know. I told him that he apparently had a much more important job than that of loving me waiting a few miles away. I told him where God closes one door, He opens another. I told him he was going to be so happy and so loved.As much as it tears at my heartstrings, I know he will be taken care of now.

What a blessing he will be to that poor family. You could not have found him a better home.

We just had to have our 14yr black lab put to sleep. She was sick, not eating and she lost a lot of weight. Her back legs would not hold her up.
She was well trained like our first dog to get the 2 newspapers everyday including the sunday's big one. They both went hunting with my husband. We are looking for a new dog from the Lab Resue group. We are looking for a 9months to a yr old female, I hope we find a new one,

I'm always sorry to hear of someone losing a pet because they are so much a part of the family. I applaud you for looking to adopt through a rescue group.


I just popped in to say hello and catch up on the news. The weather here in North Carolina is mild and sunny.

As much as it tears at my heartstrings, I know he will be taken care of now.

Whether we have good days or bad, there is always someone else with special needs and troubles. Too much of the time my own life is so busy that I lose my own focus on God and the plan that He has for 'whosoever will'. He really is a good and a loving God!

There are always puppies and dogs needing foster homes.

You obviously have a lot of love to give our four-legged friends and I am sure they have a wonderful home with you.

Here in the UK we have a charity called The Cinnamon Trust. Maybe there is something similar where you live?

There are so many dogs and puppies everywhere needing homes with love. Most of our pets over the years have come from the humane society or some other animal shelter here including Rusty our latest edition.

When I go into one of those places, my heart reaches out ot all of those homeless creatures, but, of course, being realistic I've never been able to take all of them home. But... our God is able to see to all of their needs even as He is able to see to ours! Thank you dear Lord!

We had to put one of our canine babies to sleep at the end of January and many others before that. Everyone of them continues to hold a special place in our hearts. They as so many of our human firends and family are gone, but never forgotten!

We had a power surge and my hard drive was fried. I lost all my pictures that weren't saved online and my journal and some of the kids homework in progress. I have been trying to get all the necessaries back.

that, despite the forecast

Ceramics half-term begins after next Tuesday for 3 weeks

Miranda's 'house-number' plaque will be back
and 'ready'-for painting on, of, the glaze colours

I have constructed, a rectangular pot-holder
ie: the base and the sides
and will PRETTY-IT-UP for initial-firing, next week, also

Then for three weeks
I will FIND something else to do for Tuesday afternoons

Good morning, Eagles. We're spending some time at our cottage near the shore in South Carolina and I do not have a good internet connection here, so my computer time has been brief.
