Hi Jim

This is a Brit Magpie I snapped on Mary's rear lawn (hill)

And this is Max I snapped him in Mary's front yard

and this Brit Wood Pigeon gave me the eye from twenty yards several times

I clipped this bird also

Bird? I was looking for a woman's photo,,,,lol..the chopper...

Nice photos....In london we had loads of pigeons in every back garden..some even in kitchens...Everyone, it seems, in East london was a pigeon fancier of some sort.,,especially homers.

'shopping' is rough on the old ankles
but when I can then 'take the weight off'
I can see/acknowledge all
the many-ways in which I am and have-been
so wonderfully blessed
I have been feeling so much better lately
the remission in symptoms is a real blessing

I have the breast clinic appointment Thursday
then the council investigator on Friday
after-which I am hoping
to escape to Mary's until Monday
so, I hope
that its a mid-morning appointment here

It's a five and a half hour journey
with a short break of anything
from 15 minutes to an hour (around half-way)

Phew! The onboard ablutions need bringing up to date
I CAN make-it __between stops LOL

Is this not the best time of my life ?

Yup, Jim is right. We're going to the birds, all right. And I love it. Dave, you're so funny. There I was looking for another bird and you gave us a bird--a helicopter bird!

Thank you so much. I have heard about magpies, but I had never seen a picture. What an interesting bird. And that wood pigeon looks like kin to my doves, doesn't it? And Max is so cute. He looks like he's got lots of personality, too!

I'm so glad you're feeling better, Dave. Yes, days when you can enjoy the sweet are such good days. May the Lord bless you and give you many more such days!

Jim, you've got such a great sense of humor, I love talking to you. It's interesting that the Brits like pigeons so much. Here at the Texas campus my husband works at, they released peregrine falcons to take out the overwhelming pigeon population. That ploy seems to have worked--at least it's safer to stand outside now, not quite so many unexpected offerings on one's head!

Yesterday afternoon while sitting at the computer watching a documenatry and looking out on my back lawn I saw a beautiful Robin hop very near about 6 feet away into the soft earth of my Rhododendron bush to look for dinner. He was there a long time and every so often would look up just like he was watching me. Cute. Do birds People Watch? Jan

They certainly are noisy enough!

There is a telly advert showing a bloke running into a closed double glass door..he smashes it.......two birds sitting in a tree outdoors start laughing their heads off............maybe more truth than fiction.

Maybe they do and we just don't give a tweet!

We just enjoy each other's company. Yes, Jim is great! He makes me laugh!

And I like Dave's posts, too. That whirly bird was funny.

There's Jan, who has so much wisdom, and Claire, who loves birds, too! and Bonnie and Spring, and Bubbi, and many more. So many great people here.

This is just a chat thread. Sort of like going out and seeing friends and just chatting with them for a while.

Jim didn't always have a beard...Oh my how many years ago..after I was discharged from the military,,we couldn't grow beards in the army.....Started new service after this photo,,for life.
