Another lovely morning. Cheers everyone and walk in peace.

Cheers,

Thanks Jim. A good day here. We went to Malvern with a friend. Lots of rain and flooding around but that didn't stop us from having a good time and finding some book bargains.

Blessings

Ah, Springrain, you are so right. It is hard not to miss one's adult children. Sometimes I do grieve. And then I have to take myself in hand and ask if I would want it any other way. I sort of give myself a talk. A bird that doesn't fly from the nest may not do all that God wants it to. Do I want that? No, no I don't.

So I'm just trying to quietly rejoice that God is using my kids in the areas He called them. One of them is doing test trials for a new cancer drug, for example. Would I rather have him at home? I guess not. But I still struggle.

And there's something else, too. Sometimes you do everything you can to raise good kids, and that Adamic nature shows up anyway. You know you raised them in the Lord, yet they are seeminglly indifferent to God.

I've spent many nights praying for one of my sons. He turned away from God in high school. But God did hear my prayers. This son joined the marines. And there he found God--while on a zip line. Today he is walking with Him.

I keep on reminding myself that I gave these beautiful young people to the Lord when they were still babies. Surely God is caring for them. Surely God loves them even more than I do.

But in the quiet of the night sometimes, my heart still misses them.

A Snow and Blowing Snow Advisory is in effect for WNY until 7pm. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect from Midnight until noon Tuesday.

Officials in Orleans, Genesee, Cattaraugus and Wyoming counties in western New York have issued travel advisories because of dangerous "white out" conditions.

And the state Thruway Authority says the weather is to blame for an accident at Exit 47 near Rochester involving multiple tractor trailers. The authority has closed part of Interstate 490 around the city because of accidents.

The Orleans County sheriff's office is recommending no unnecessary travel after responding to several crashes.

This is our weather here. Daughter made it home after hrs. on road(usually not quite one) very scary ride, some roads not passable. Also cell phone went dead!! Lotta praying going on.
Thank God she made it home safe.
Bless

It sounds like your doing very well Ariel. Just that you know your not alone with these feeling.

I could right a whole book just on what I have learned in my spiritual life since the kids left......It is more profound than what I learned while I was raising them.

I join you in praise and thanksgiving for your sons and daughter...you are very very blessed that your kids are serving God. We are not all that blessed. I cannot say the same. I fret deeply over "why" I did all the right things (not to be boustful- you know?) But we go on to serve God, seeking HIS will in all things, trusting his ways and above all "being obedient to him".

So are there some grandchildren for you yet??????????

Thank you for telling me that, my sister. Your understanding words feel like a long, warm hug. Thank you!

So then we keep praying. Keep praying, dear woman of God, because God does hear a mother's prayers!

Something that helped me when I was praying for my son were the promises concerning our offspring. I would go to Psalm 112, for example, where it says that the descendants of a righteous person will be blessed. Well, I am only righteous because of God's grace and mercy, but I used this verse to go to our Father and say, "Father, You said _____, You said _____." Psalm 37:25-26 is also such a place.

Intercede. Ask for the blood of Jesus to cover your offspring. If Job could cover his grown sons and daughters, Job 1:5 & 10, then certainly we can cover our kids. Also come against every hold the enemy has on your kids, in Jesus' name (for example, 2 Cor. 4:4). Declare out loud that these are broken. Isaiah 54:17, Luke 10:19 and James 4:7-8 are also good verses to look at when doing spiritual warfare.

So are there some grandchildren for you yet??????????

Yes. I have a five year old grandaughter in Houston, an almost one year old near Philly, two grandsons in my city, and another darling little girl on the way.

OH yeah...the Spiritual Warfare has been declared a long time ago...I have been at it since 1983. .I can not go into it here and now. It would make a whole new thread.

That's okay, Springrain. You don't have to go into it, I understand.

If I can encourage you, just let me say that I believe that God hears your prayers, and will answer. Maybe you don't see the fruit yet, but that doesn't mean that God hasn't heard. Just keep praying.

No, God does not violate the will. But if He can turn a king's heart, Prov. 21:1, then He can certainly turn the hearts of our kids.

Hi Spring :)

Yes, GOD does have things worked out;

yet did I mis-understand you saying you have been having Health-challenges for some years, including diabetes. That led me to believe that you, yourself, have not yet got things worked out; hence my previous post. (Forgive me if you did not say that; it would be nice were that not the case.

It would be Good-news to hear otherwise, and that you are *Enjoying positive... emotions continually...* ~ know what I mean? :)

At any rate, ('Fretting' was not), ever a part of my mindset as I reached out to give you a positive-mind direction.... of which  Prayer  certainly plays an Important part.

Annie

Annie, after reading your post, I was left with the feeling that you believe all health problems we have are a direct result of us not working things out with God. Is that what you are saying? If so, what about tiny children who have diabetes? Please help me understand what you are saying?

What about Paul and his ongoing infirmity? What of all the saints afflicted by God for His own purpose? Job suffered great calamities, and we know that God was dealing with Satan, and Job was the pawn in God's hands.

Cheers,

Jim

Annie says: did I mis-understand

Yes Annie...you really did misunderstand what I said...Thank You for trying to offer love and understanding. I really am doing GREAT in GOD"S LOVING HANDS.

The sufferings I have had and do undergo are part of the cross I have been given and choose to carry due to my great love and desire to serve God according to HIS will. There is Great Joy and spiritual power in suffering. Perhaps we are on different paths or different understandings.

This is my prayer today...

" Jesus, meek and humble of heart...make my heart like unto thine"

If I can include a graphic here..This photo says it all ...it represents where I am coming from....This love and sacrifice is the epitomy of my daily life. NOTHING else matters more.

Wow I have missed a lot while away. I can relate to the concern expressed for adult children who turn away from God. I am praying for one son's salvation, and deliverance into "life" another for deeper and more Biblical connection with his saviour. But my issues also concern children who for one reason or another are not blossoming and seem unable to get launched into their own life without enormous family input. Dependency issues are huge and as I have one disabled son at home and he is unable to live independently I think this has somewhat skewed perception in the other brother still at home and the one who is "out" but still very dependent on Gramma and his girlfriends family. He is smart but under educated and habitually unemployed and unable to use his great musical talent in a constructive way. His older brother should be moving forward too but due to certain issues in his life he is "stuck". It is not a question about salvation, he is saved loves God is active in our church etc. He is just so dependent on us and a very late bloomer. Unable to manage finances etc. It is a big concern. I am hopeful that my youngest son will be able to move forward with his life at an earlier stage but for him I pray for a deeper more Biblical walk with God. He identifies himself as a Christian but is much like I was at the same age and not that committed. So our jobs as parents does not end at any particular age. As they grow and have kids we assume more and more the role of intercessors. I know my Mom prayed for all of us including grandchildren and great grandchildren every day until she passed away. It was a great loss to us. Jan
