Hmmm? It would not really be such a surprise. Someone certainly knew prior to the day to set up the plans. Would someone also have given such a blatant clue?

Update on Mary.....

Mary endured her THIRD 'cycle' of chemo today
and came through-it 'well'
We are halfway through her prescribed treatment \o/

In around two weeks, she will undergo a CT scan of her 'torso'
to enable assessment of the chemo's effectiveness on her tumours [so far]
The 'fact' that Mary is eating 'normally' tells us the chemo is 'working'
on her esophagus and, hopefully, it has also 'worked'
upon the secondary tumours in her stomach

We are 'home' and the day, is, rapidly falling behind us
\o/

It is not difficult ~to see 'government tactics' [in action]

Just a few weeks ago, we were notified [by letter]
to the effect that we will each receive a small increase to our weekly pensions

Let us not jump through hoops and leap for joy though

Today, we received another letter, to say
that our 'rent' is being increased by £5 per week [?]
effectively... 'giving' with one hand and 'clawing it back' with the other

Thus, the PUBLIC PURSE, is not emptied.... but INSTEAD it grows
~with the reassigned benefits

The obvious 'result', down here, in the street
is, that while, the cost of living, continues to increase
pensions are vulnerable to being capped and 'milked' [LEGALLY]

Thanks for the update on Mary, Dave. Kathy and I continue to pray for the two of you.

As to the ways of the system (government?), it is not better on this side of the Atlantic. What have so many fought and died for in so many wars, which purportedly were to end all wars? There was certainly one death which had a better and more far-reaching result.

Understandably just looking at the world around us, anyone with any vision of God's Truth will only place their Hope in Him.

re: Government

The Bible speaks very clearly about the relationship between the believer and the government.
We are to obey governmental authorities, and the government is to treat us justly and fairly.
Even when the government does not live up to its role, we are still to live up to ours.
Finally, when the government asks us to do something that is in direct disobedience to God’s Word,
we are to disobey the government in faithful confidence of the Lord’s power to protect us.

Whether the Bible uses the terms “master,” “ruler,” “government,”
or any other name for an established authority,
the instruction is always the same – obey.
We must remember that God created the authorities ruling over us
just as He created us.
As Paul wrote to the Romans,
“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority
except that which God has established.
The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Consequently, he who rebels against the authority
is rebelling against what God has instituted,
and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves” (Romans 13:1-2).
Peter wrote,
“Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men:
whether to the king, as the supreme authority,
or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong
and to commend those who do right” (1 Peter 2:13-14).
Both Peter and Paul also remind slaves repeatedly to be obedient to their masters
for the same reasons
(Ephesians 6:5-8; Colossians 3:22-25; 1 Timothy 6:1-2; 1 Peter 2:18-20; Titus 2:9-11).
