Well here we are..1st day of Spring and it is Father's day for all the aussie dads..Is it Father's day in YOUR part of the world on September 1st?? Although I suggested to my daughter that I not come to dinner with her tonight (as we usually have a Sunday night dinner thing at her place) so that her husband can have a nice father's day dinner with his dad and mother..I got told very promptly by my son-inlaw.."You WILL be there just the same because if Don (my deceased husband) was still here .. you would be with us for dinner anyway!" I am so lucky to have a great son-inlaw who looks after me as much as possible and more..Praise God for the way I am blessed with many things in my life!! :amen:

Our fathers day is the 3rd Sunday in June.

This would have been my 28th wedding anniversary, except he was buried three years ago yesterday. It's getting easier to remember without so much pain. Still, this last week of August isn't my favorite.

Tomorrow is a new month!

My husband's name was Don, also. We have two sons.

Hello frogalone..7 years this year for me and I still feel a lot of pain but it has gotten a little easier so I know what you are feeling..smiles...We would have been married 40 this year..smiles...July for me is always a very poignant month as not only does it include my wedding anniversary date but 3 days later the anniversary of his death but my daughter and I always have a little remembrance get together on that day at a place where he loved to be with me so I get to share that extra bonding each year with my daughter which is really lovely.. :) I have many many wonderful memories of our lives together so I dwell on that when I get a little down... :)

Wow, so you have both anniversaries in the same week also. It's nice that you and your daughter do that.

I peep in too :sorry: but have been feeling quiet the past couple of weeks.

It has been a bittersweet, reflective, and prayerful time... cherishing the awesome blessing of Jim's healing, just as Steve entered Hospice.
His passing has really touched my heart in many ways, and I miss seeing him here at CF.

It has been very warm, humid, and stormy here....and that has flared up my arthritis, allergies, and migraines; but Fall (cool/dry) weather is coming in a few days

Our Son and his SO are coming today for a BBQ, we make be 'frying' the burgers and dogs because we have storms coming  ^_^

Have a blessed day in the Lord

STAY CLOSE TO THE VINE

God says to you and me,
“You can be fruitful, but I’m going to have to clip some diseased leaves.”
Arrogance.
Vain ambitions.
Bad relationships.
Dangerous opportunities.
Revenge.

Does God take this process lightly? I don’t think so.
John 15:2 says,
“He cuts off every branch of mine that does not produce fruit.”

So what are we to do?
We are branches on the vine–
what is our response?

An answer commonly given at this point is the imperative,
“Bear fruit!”
But is that the right response?
If a branch is fruitless does it help if the gardener demands fruit?
Please note, the branch cannot make fruit.

Jesus says,
“remain in me. . .”
"Remain in my love. . .
If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit".
Our task? It’s clear.
Stay close to the vine.
Jesus said, “
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you,
you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

John 15:5

SHAME UPON YOU !!!

Associated Press Tue Aug 20, 2013 7:46 AM
DENVER — The mother and autistic son
of a woman killed by a rampaging gunman in Denver
were evicted three days after her slaying
because the victim was the only person listed on the lease.

Authorities said 47-year-old Sandra Roskilly
was standing on the front porch of her home on Friday
when a man with a rifle emerged from his home and killed her.
Police Chief Robert White said
a police sniper shot and wounded the gunman
as he shot a propane canister in an attempt to detonate it.

The Denver Housing Authority was apologetic about Monday’s eviction
and issued a statement saying they had no choice under federal policies and regulations.

Family members told KMGH-TV because Roskilly died without a will,
her personal belongings will be held by a public administrator.

This beggars belief, in humanity
What planet am I on ???

Hello Everyone,

I wish everyone a great week. My wife and I just came from the gym, and we share the same thoughts about working out. We really don't like it :D - but we do it to feel better and enhance our health. Is it working? Yes, I think so. As my wife said, "It couldn't hurt".

SMILE - It's contagious.
