Will your mother still be fairly close to you....distance wise for visiting?

Yes, in fact she'll be much closer. We did live about 5 miles away when she lived in her house. Now we're about 1 block away. Her other two sons do live a long way away.

We got mother moved in, and she's like a kid in a candy store. She's been living alone since dad died in 1998, and now she has tons of people in her age group to be with every day. We still have a list of things to do, but she's pretty comfortable. She's already made many new friends, and she's very happy. Now she asks why she didn't do this sooner. She's been having some falls, and we've been trying to get her to use a walker. Well, that problem is solved now. We got her a new walker and she's using it - I guess because many people use walkers there and it's the normal thing to do.

Just butting in here.... Just wanted to say that I have spent some cheerful time today getting involved with all the different sections here for the over 50's group..Has been fun and relaxing too.. Will be back later no doubt..smiles...

I am on my own for a few days...hubby has gone to Arizona to shoot dove...this has been an annual event for him and many others for nearly 30 years. Our son has been bring a whole new generation for some time...which in recent years has included teenage girls...the children of members of the group.

I plan to have dinner out with a good friend tomorrow...got my floors cleaned very early this morning as hot, humid air is expected and arriving again today.

Summer will end...

I think the site is so great and am looking forward to checking out some of the more "serious" stuff also...I think God is bringing me back with some baby steps first....the main thing IS..that I feel like I am back in fellowship with others in Christ... a place that I needed to be..smiles... I do look forward to this time every year. I can turn off the tv.... I do want him to come back tho. One of my friends is going thru a lot of adjustments being a widow of 2 years now.

Would you believe it is really raining at "my house"...we have tropical storm systems floating around the so west...flash flooding in many areas.
