I've been offline for a few days with computer problems. I had to buy a new router and wait for it to be delivered. Here's hoping it's going to work and keep working. Anyway - I'm back.

I had an unavoidable LOA today


Mary and I went on a 'trip' to Southport

It is only 39.1 miles away from home
[1 hour on the motorway << dependant upon traffic and roadworks]

I see we are getting thru the days....so far we are all pretty quiet...there are people not far from where I live, being burned out of their homes...the Silver fire is south east of me...I can smell the smoke at times. That area gets a lot of wind, we are in severe drought too.

I had lunch with a friend today...now I might take a nap...:duh:

Hi everyone good to see you all!

I am taking a posting LOA of sorts ~
After the busy-ness of the past couple months, I am taking some time for quiet to renew, read, and pray

It isn't entirely quiet; we are having a major landscaping project done this week...which means early to rise and lost of noise from trucks and backhoes every day

But in general, all is well with hubby and I....and we are counting our many blessings
We can relax more fully in our renovated yard after next week

Not only do fires need to breathe but, the heat they make,
throws huge amounts of hot air, higher into the atmosphere
This, creates a void, into which cold air will rush, to fill it

I was tempted to spend an hour [or so] on the settee [earlier]
but, hung on until bedtime [which won't be long now anyway]

Those who may be effected with the fires in California will be in my prayers. It hasn't been long ago that our drought conditions were serious, and we had wild fires all over the state. We're giving thanks that we're having a pretty wet season so far, and most of our drought problems have been solved by God. Thank you Lord.

I understand you Dave about the fires and their own weather...plus the normal windy conditions in that pass...these windmills are about 40 minutes from us...we have a range of hills between us...all the smoke is going east...the place where the fire began was closer, yet still not a threat to my area.

We can hear the planes going in and out to the fire site...lots of activity to fight the fires by air...there are also 2 other new fires in So Cal.

You have had a full plate for quite a long time...get that rest. I conked out after my lunch with lori...mostly because I am not sleeping well at night...the sleep pattern is all messed up in this heat.

That is so terrible; we have seen it on the news and have been praying for all of you, for safety and and end to it all

And to think yesterday we got almost 4 inches of rain
