You know Tom...if the Lord was not ALWAYS GOOD I think I would go crazy...we need an unchangeable source of goodness and light...He is the source...our Creator.

We have had our eyes opened to the world of law enforcement...maybe Tom will comment on his memories of his time as an officer.

No profession is exempt from people with mental illnesses and break-downs. I only remember one officer committing suicide on my department over 25 years, and he didn't hurt anyone but himself. I would consider this horrible incident in the news to be isolated and not typical for the law enforcement profession.

Hello everyone...just want to let you know my computer is not working again...we are discussing getting a new one for me...as the PC people did not know what was wrong just a few weeks ago and it is doing the same thing...it will not start. Spending more repair money on it does not seem wise...so I am using hubby's machine right noT, but I will not use his for my regular posting. I will check-in a little bit as time goes by...all is well here other wise.

Hi Dave
I wish I have your energy and enthusiasm for painting
We had it done about 5 years ago, and they did a terrible job; it already needs to be re-done
I dread the idea of emptying all the rooms etc (we need to polyurethane the wood as well).
Hubby and I also have differing attention to details
It seems so overwhelming right now....to the body, mind, and spirit.

Don't overdo Dave; I feel guilty now considering your health

Yeah, don't overdo it Dave...we need you around for a long time. BTW, I love pink and usually wear it on a gloomy day to cheer me up. Happy blessed Sunday everyone! Here's a little poem I found on FB yesterday:

I guess I hold a completely different 'insight'

I can 'move items' [out of the way] paint, and then replace the moved items
I do not BEGIN, with the intention of completion [in one day]
It isn't finished, until it's finished.... but my progress may be delayed due to 'days-off'

I am fortunate, insofar as I [once upon a time] used-to do it... 'for a living' [professionally]
and am therefore, quite used-to picking-up and continuing from wherever, I left-off

The 'plan', is to work toward the 'finish line' [one step at a time] regardless /in spite of, any interventions
It is a work in-progress

We do not have a window in the bathroom, and so, I have the ENVIRO vent fan working 'FULL BLAST'
this, because of the fumes, from the drying paint solvents [ethylene something or other]
I also come away from the area [regularly] for 'fresh air' /refreshments and/or a sit-down

There are seven doors to paint upstairs [4 bedrooms, a bathroom, a walk-in cupboard and, an airing cupboard]
Painting two, each day, will very soon have the job behind me

I have already emulsion painted the walls [in my own time /at my own pace]

There is no-chance of my 'overdoing', the ability of my body to function

and, anything I fail to complete, can be 'left for others to finish' after I have gone
