We won't have it as bad at the folks in the mid west for sure!
This weather is old hat for us and we are prepared; we stay home and hunker down anyway ;)
Our weekely errands can wait until Friday; we have plenty of turkey to eat lol.

:amen: It sure does sound good...as does your pie :)
We are finishing off a few goodies today; we just save a helping each :D

Take good care and rest well

Good to know you are safe and snuggly...the pie is done, but it does not taste like pumpkin or pecan pie...it is just sweet...will look for another recipe eventually. We don't NEED a lot of pie. :D

Larry went to work...did a lot of coughing yesterday, but seemed better early today...if not I want him to go to urgent care.

Today I will make a cocnut cream pie...hubby's favorite, old recipe too,

Awww...what a sweetie she is!
It is so hard to make those decisions; we have had to on several occasions.
Praying for your direction, strength, and peace

It is soooo hard to let them go, see them suffer...we usually come to a place of "no choice"...or the best choice is to let them go to heaven....:hug::hug::hug::hug:

Yesterday I awoke to a cold house and a full tank of gas. a call to the heating man and I find out the valve in my furnace is gone and will need to be replaced. The problem was he didn't have one and wouldn't have one until about noon today. I ran a couple space heaters all day and night long... I dread seeing the electric bill! It is 14 degrees this morning, but with the space heater, my trailer is cool, but not cold.

Paying for the repairs will be the hard part. The cost of the valve alone is $196!!! This will take up any money left after I pay my bills. January is the month I will have to fight the wolf away from my door!!!!!

Yum...PIE (you make the good ones lol) :yum:
All my goodies are gone; I made sure we didn't keep too much ;)

Aside from a possible Chinese takeout for NYE, I am back on my 'healthy' diet :sorry:

We have about 8 in of snow so far; praying it doesn't get ruined by a mix as the storm leaves this afternoon
Nothing planned for me today, except for a slow paced afternoon of snow removal :D

*Continued prayers for you and your beloved fur baby, Yvie

Be blessed everyone

Wow! We use space heaters too...but it just gets down to 60 degrees in the house...maybe a little colder during a freezing snap.

We had to dig up the foundation of our house to repair plumbing problems about a year ago now. Then did it again, out by the street...we had a very expensive year.

I ate all the pecan pie I wanted...2 pieces...I don't like cream pies....so I am safe...already have my mind set on regular eating for quite a while.

I have a sore throat and feel crummy...must be Larry's bug...he did work most of the day, so he feels a bit better.

I have all my chores done...rest will be priority.

Hello all, bedtime here in the UK. Things slowly getting back to normal after Christmas. The day went nicely, with just the 6 of us, despite me not feeling very ready at all - hubby and I bought most of our presents on Christmas Eve! We had a nice service at our church on Christmas morning - about the nicest part of Christmas Day - then went home and handed out Secret Santa presents - each family member receives 2 presents and gives 2, all in secret. We had our dinner about 3 and handed out the main presents early evening.

No snow, but lots of rain.

Every blessing for the New Year!

Gillian

My wife and I are back home after a great and white Christmas. Christmas services were especially beautiful at my daughter's church.

Hi Gillian  Happy New year!
Wow! We use space heaters too...but it just gets down to 60 degrees in the house...maybe a little colder during a freezing snap.

We had to dig up the foundation of our house to repair plumbing problems about a year ago now. Then did it again, out by the street...we had a very expensive year.
We also have 1 for a 4 season porch that is unheated.
It is a large room we use all year, and it south facing, so it stays pretty warm.
But in the winter occasionally the heater is used to take the chill out if we don't run the wood stove.

I hope you feel better

Good to read and hear from so many of you...I decided to take hubby to urgent care tonight...he has bronchitis. The dr gave him a breathing treatment right there...and he has 3 prescriptions to take...antibiotics and a codine syrup to calm that cough and an inhaler to use as needed.
Poor guy has been hacking away for days...yet, we still were not sure he needed some extra help...the place was full of waiting sick people when we left.
Anyway...it won't be hard to get him to rest for a change...he is drained.

Hugs to everyone.

He is alseep in his chair right now...poor baby.

Yeah that is no fun!
It has been many years since I have had a respiratory infection (thank God, with my asthma!), but my hubby has had asthmatic bronchitis.
Rest will help...as will the cough med; and drink plenty of fluids (warm is good).
Praying

Those prayers are worth their weight in gold...I am not having a problem getting him to rest, that tells me he feels bad, but he looks a lot better this morning.
I remember your hubby being sick...maybe last winter...he was down for a lon time...((((((hugs)))).
