Same here; we have a soggy day ahead of us tomorrowwell it wont stay sunny for long,rain is on it way,lol
This afternoon, Mary and I attended Grandson 'David's' Holy Communion
Pics were taken ... although, mostly videos
Afterwards... The amassed family, went for 'a meal' at, one of those
"Eat All You Can for £** " type, restaurants [?]
We were there for 'two hours' of eating and stuffing
Just watch-me, pile the pounds back onphew!!!!
I began with a Mixed Salad, Roast Beef, Roast Pork and Julienne Potatoes [in 'jackets']
then, Chicken in Korma Sauce and Chicken in Red Thai Sauce with Egg Fried Rice
then, two helpings of Tiramasu, plus Coffee Surprise, Plum and Date Cake and a Pineapple Ring
then, a small bowl of Strawberry Ice Cream, washed down with a half-litre of Ice Cold Lager
I shouldn't have anything [more] to eat, from 8pm tonight... for my 'fasting-bloods', tomorrow morning
Not, that I feel hungry... for, I can always have 'breakfast' upon my return home @10.15am

LOL Gail Sis'... I am an 'OMNIVORE' [well, 'almost']
I did lose 14 pounds+ to diuretics recently
and so, it is time [now] to rebuild 'the body'
I have not eaten, since; an hour before the deadline
and will have only 'water' for drinks.... until the tests
so, I should, be okay

Truthfully speaking; it was, between two and three times [the 'amount']
that I might normally consume at a meal
The 'available foodstuffs' were from a 'WORLD BUFFET BAR'
~Thailand, China, India, Japan, and several other locations around the world
I did not fancy Sushi
I did give thought, to how my body would best assimilate, whatever I chose to eat
and therefore ate the salad, vegetables, pork and beef [FIRST]
I do LOVE curry and especially, curried chicken
and I must have consumed a whole chicken [in terms of quantity-eaten]
I prefer the tiramasu, to be a little firmer than that I ate earlier
but it was a 'paid-for' outing .... costing the parents of young David, some £300
We were told to "Eat Heartily"
so that they [David's parents] got, their money's 'worth'
I think, £15 per person, was a little too-extravagant
and recommended a Chinese Restaurant to them for future patronage
[The Peking Court] where, you can eat ALL YOU CAN for just £5 per person
This, is where we will celebrate, my up and coming birthday
~not, that I am a 'cheapskate'
but rather, I believe in, obtaining GOOD VALUE, for my money
~it doesn't grow on trees around here

It sounds like you can eat quite a variety of foods at one meal...I am more like Gail and need to keep my meals and spices very simple...but, like you said...you can really use those calories right now....
