  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Chinese Comic Promo - Combat Armor Steel Wings - YouTube

Whenever I go to the Chinese anime channel, I always see episodes of this series. Combat Armor Steel Wings, set in 2045, is about a war between China and the US.

Anyway Chinese anime is, on the whole, terrible. However CASW seems pretty good in my opinion...it's a huge improvement from all other Chinese anime. Not as great as most Japanese anime though...

With its rising market share and popularity, I believe that Chinese anime industry has a huge potential to grow. I wonder if in a few decades from now, we'll all be watching Chinese anime!

Nah, I don't think we'll want to be watching Chinese military propaganda (that's all China's media ever seems to produce...it's as if I'm living in a fascist country).

Intriguing. I have never watched any Chinese anime but the artwork in the video looks very similar to Japanese anime.

When I think Chinese and anime my first association was with the Hong Kong mangas with their distinct art style. Been following Huo Feng Liao Yuan by Chen Mou for a while and I love the series, but the Chinese names make me so confused.

The Chinese *tend* to copy from different sources, be it media or technology. Quite ironic that the country famous for inventing so much lacks so much, as well as having the world's largest population, lacks innovation. Well I suppose the Cultural Revolution did take its toll...

I think that the actual term for Chinese anime is manhua (anime is almost exclusively Japanese, we rarely hear of popular western or Korean anime). I've looked at some Hong Kong manga and artwork, it does look quite distinct from Japanese styles. Hong Kong is the unofficial otaku hub for the Chinese (Taiwan is also very into manga and anime). Mainland China still hasn't caught up...
