  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I saw this on the single's thread and thought it best would discussed up here in our mature single's area.

One of the youngens asked about kids and it being a deal breaker in starting or continuing a relationship.

What I was finding interesting was one how YOUNG were some of those who answered and how the boys wanted 4,5 and even 12 kids.

Is it just me or is the younger posse just not getting it when it comes to these things?

Men please believe me when I say that you are vitally important to your children. But heavens what are they thinking.

I degress. :)

At this time in your life and dating just how important are children in the scheme of relationships?

At my age? Not at all unless the woman already has children.

Ya that usually helps! ^_^
Isn't that the truth!!

I think my whole point for this thread was to have a more mature discussion about something we face more and more than the younger crowd.

There are so many points to having a relationship with children involved and even having children.

I hear you! I had a relationship with a guy before that my children absolutely did not like and I could not understand why, turns out he was really abusive to them when I wasn't around :( Needless to say I ended that Pronto!!!

Men who are abusive with children are the worst. Grrrrr
I am glad you broke it off with him. I know I need to pray for people like that, but it is hard to do, because all I really want for them is to be hit by a bus. Oops sorry. God carried away.
You read my mind Gimpy! I have a very hard time forgiving him for that...

Good for you.

SO many do that. It makes it harder for those of us that truly love children and consider them people who need to be repected and loved no matter who they biologically belong to.

I am sorry you and your little ones went through that but I am so happy that you got out of it as well.

I believe that is a normal reaction.

I would rather see them tied to a pole ontop of an ant hill with honey all over them....naked.

For me? Children haven't really been an issue. When I was almost 30 and ready to settle down my ex-husband had 2 children, and we had a 3rd (my dd now). Our marriage didn't last for various reasons and after a few years of healing from my heartbreak over my marriage and being a single mom.....I went out in the dating circle and dated different guys (never anything serious) who didn't have kids. And I didn't ever feel a connection with them...I don't know if it was because they didn't have kids?
But, my bf, now has 2 dd's himself and I feel we have a certain connection that way....among many other ways. And he's been the ONLY guy to meet my dd.....so that speaks for itself. :)

I just saw something in another thread that actually made my blood run cold.

A young woman said and I am paraphrasing...why not have as many children for God. The Muslims do it why not have 10 more children for God.

Babymakers for Christ. I am feeling like I am in Waco.
