Galatians 4:
26 but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all.
27 For it is written: Rejoice, O barren, who do not bear! Break forth and shout,
you who are not in labor! For the desolate has many more children than she
who has a husband.
The Heritage Of God's Children
Isaiah 54:
1 Sing, O barren, you who have not borne. Break forth into singing, and cry aloud,
you who have not labored with a child. For more are the children of the desolate
than the children of the married woman, says the Lord.
vs. 2-4 The Message:
Clear lots of ground for your tents! Make your tents large. Spread out! Think big!
Use plenty of rope, drive the tent pegs deep. You’re going to need lots of elbow room
for your growing family. You’re going to take over whole nations; you’re going to resettle abandoned cities. Don’t be afraid—you’re not going to be embarrassed. Don’t hold back—you’re not going to come up short. You’ll forget all about the humiliations of your youth,
and the indignities of being a widow will fade from memory.

5 For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is His name. And your Redeemer
is the Holy One of Israel. He is called the God of the whole earth.
vs. 6-8 The Message
You were like an abandoned wife, devastated with grief, and God welcomed you back,
like a woman married young and then left, says your God. Your Redeemer God says:
I left you, but only for a moment. Now, with enormous compassion, I’m bringing you
back. In an outburst of anger I turned my back on you—but only for a moment.
It’s with lasting love that I’m tenderly caring for you.

10 For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall
not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord,
who has mercy on you.
vs. 11-13 The Message
Afflicted city, storm-battered, without pity: I’m about to rebuild you with stones of
turquoise, lay your foundations with sapphires, construct your towers with rubies,
your gates with jewels, and all your walls with precious stones. All your children will
have God for their teacher— what a mentor for your children!

14 In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression,
for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.
Galatians 4:28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac, are children of promise.
