Child sees a demon?

My girlfriend, Angela, is a Kindergarten teacher. I was volunteering in her class recently, and during free time we observed a child sitting in the corner speaking out not too loudly but rather forcefully "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus!" over and over as he rocked back and forth in his chair. He confided in us that the devil kept looking at him and described him as being red, Angela believes he may have also mentioned red eyes.

Is this not an odd phrase for a 5 or 6 year old to just know and say? The boy said he has been to Church and Sunday School before, but his family does not attend regularly; although he seemed to believe they were going to start going soon. Angela says that when she was talking to him he gave a full account of what salvation was and that he knew Jesus would protect him. She also mentioned that he used words uncommon for a kindergartener (like "redeemed"). Angela knows some things about the parents that lead her to believe they would not have been the ones to impart this wisdom to him (trouble with the law etc.).

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I think children are a reflection of what they are told by adults. No doubt a 5 year old could be bothered by a demon but you could never know with kids imaginations. My youngest daughter was having monster issues from television input.
I pulled her aside and showed her photoshsop pictures and we changed some. she soon realized the tv monsters were created pictures.

To defeat the night time monsters I got her bible and we prayed for it together that the big ball force field around it would be activated to keep away monsters. this force field is huge and extents everywhere outside her room. As long as there is that bible present in here room there is no monsters anymore in her mind.

I wish I had known Jesus in my youth. I had been visited by demons and was very afraid of them, but had no idea how to help myself against them.

What is needed is that this child grows into a rich life with Jesus and with everything else that belongs to a wholesome life. The Desert Fathers, devout christians who chose to live in the desert to lead a life of isolation, were often visited by devils and demons. St. Anthony, the most famous of these Fathers, only found solace and a better life when God showed him how to have disciples and how to work with them together. Basically, if you live in isolation and solitude you make it easier for the devil to attack you. So the lesson is, talk with that child about everything and give him helpful company. The devil is easy to handle if we humans care about each other and are able to shed light on the devil's evil. The light dispels the darkness and when we can tell each other of these assaults a burden is lifted from our shoulders. Basically, give this child a chance to know it is not alone, help it during this assault, pray and sing with it and give it special, hopeful, joyous love in Christ!

Hi
I have two "stories" that happened to my children when they were young.

We were at relatives, who were not believers. My son was little more than two, maybe two and a half years old.He was a happy child, and I had not talked about devil at such a young age.The family was watching the film "Omen".I was sick of it.Then sudden li the small child pointed at the screen and said: "devil".
Everyone was stunned.

My daughter was about 6-7. She said to me she saw Jesus.I asked her how it was and how did she know it was Jesus. She said she just knew it was Him.he said she also saw ugly creatures and when she reached out her hand,it went through them. But when she reached out to touch Jesus, she could touch Him (meaning He had a body). Now I was amazed, because at her age she couldn't just made up such things, which are actually true. She also said that when she turned to her other side,Jesus was always there.

:)
God bless you.

They were stunned at that? Isn't it a movie about the devil?

I'm gathering that at least two of the responders don't believe in spiritual warfare against children?

The child does not have a very religious background, and his parents are not people to he would have learned anything like this from. So do you really think it's a medical issue or could it possibly be a spiritual issue?

He needs medical help either way!

Yes it is.But the child was very small.Little more than two years old.It wasn't always said in the movie that it's about the devil.
It seemed as if the people being present were warned by Gid through an innocent child speaking.

Blessings.

He most likely is parroting some adult, older child, situation (church), video, etc.
All it takes is one exposure.
I remember in 1963 there was a song, "The night has a 1000 eyes" and laying awake, as a child thinking, "1000 eyes watching me at night " or the song "footsteps".

But he maybe actually seeing into the spirit realm or
he may have a mental problem or be on medication.
A referral to the school nurse might be in order.
To be safe, I would not discuss anything with him. (law suits and all ).

As an adult, I have had a wide awake encounter with a devil like demon (RED). Which glowed like neon and appeared to be 2D within our 3D world.

So it is probable that he is seeing the same thing. Now on a spiritual realm issue,
I do not see the point of spirits interacting with children, as what is the point, unless the child is some threat to the spirit.
As it is very easy to fool and scare a child, I would think that only the lowest common spirit would even bother.

On the other hand I was taunting the spirits and I drew them to me, as I was a threat. Yet when they appeared, I lost my temper and charged at them. They later
hit me like a ton of bricks. When I could not see, but felt them. They have pushed
my head to the keyboard and held it.

Now the problem with the child and my experiences are, if no one can see what we really saw and can only take our words, then it is only true to ourselves.

Kids that age pick up everything, and the more unusual it is, the more likely they will have to work it out in their brains. I know many kids that age who had heard of those concepts in church and built it into their language. Five-year-olds are learning PowerPoint and statistical planning basics these days.

But I agree that he could be overly stressed, maybe fearful that his family is new to all this and might not feel like they deserve God's favor and protection. The medical aspect would be feeling terrorized by the unknown, and not having the coping skills. Even if it's a demon.

I -think- it would be safe for a teacher to say something like, "if something is bullying you, then tell it to go away." Your goal is to set people free, and to train kids for what they need in life. Not allowing fears or assumptions to hold them back.

As an employee, you would not be authorized to say much more, but you could encourage them to talk to their parents about it. And you could call the parents.

Gary and Ditte, thanks for your stories. I know kids who were tormented with certain dreams, and also kids who were vigilant evangelists at that age.

I even know a family who trained their kids in the prophetic and in healing from the moment they were born. These kids boldly prayed over adults, and not in a parroting way.

I always felt childhood is a very special yet vulnerable time within a persons consciousness/life. Children are in many ways pure and not corrupted by the world, however their lack of experience can be a stumbling block for them. I find it odd a small child would know about rebuking things but its always possible, and besides I find nothing wrong with it. Theres to many people in this world who do not believe in spiritual warfare yet alone know how its waged ( for example and believe me or not but 9/11 was a satanic blood sacrifice by the Illuminati).

These are the end times and as scripture says
Acts 2:17-21
'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'

We are all children of God whether we all believe in him or not. As good, faithful children we must acknowledge this relationship and live our lives in a humble and appreciative way doing everything we can to learn about our father and please him.

Eccelsiastes 12:13
Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

Matthew 18:3
And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

one thing i do know for sure is children's senses are much more acute than ours. children can see things we cant for 2 reasons, one is that they see what is there not what they think they should see because adults have conditioned their thinking. It has been documented young children see auras around people sometimes and this is only because they naturally can and not because of demon involvement etc. Once ridiculed the ability stops for most. Saying scary things don't exist is a good plan, but other things I don't think it is a good plan to ridicule what they see, for their benefit.

This concept carries across much of spiritual life. If we surround ourselves with people who are not afraid to talk about God and spiritual topics, then we stop blocking those things in our lives, through fears and lack of confidence.

Children are in many ways pure and not corrupted by the world, however their lack of experience can be a stumbling block for them. I find it odd a small child would know about rebuking things but its always possible, and besides I find nothing wrong with it.
The young children that I knew who did this, used it to gain courage against bullies, and were able to grasp the "battle not against flesh and blood" concept. Instead of fighting back, they prayed, and found results. I even know kids who taught their unchurched friends how to do this.

It is something that should be handled carefully, of course -- I am not comfortable with SS teachers, club leaders or babysitters teaching this without parental permission. The OP situation is a good example of why not.

I saw demons as a child and now that i am an adult I think that the reason children can see these things is because of their innocence. Spiritually speaking, we are in an age that sadly believes that spiritual warfare is a thing of the past; that it ended when christ died for us when in reality that is where the battle started. Children see things because they are innocent and do not have the sin adults have. Children can unfortunately see the demonic forces that are behind sins committed by the adult authorities. That being said maybe he has a calling in the ministry and the devil is trying to scare him at a young age or God is allowing him to see these things so he will have no problem believeing in them later??? I honestly dont think a child would make up seeing a demon; i saw them and i know i saw them cuz my sisters later confessed that they saw the same things but were too afraid to talk about it.

Do you remember how you handled it? Did it go away quickly or over time?

I wonder about all those assumptions that kids need to go through a normal nightmare stage. It would definitely be a way of coping with rough transitions, but one might wonder if there was more.

Around second grade, I felt vibes from an adult that seemed to be a sexual predator, and I didn't even know what that was at the time. Everyone liked him. I always wondered whether there were hidden things people never talked about, or never found out.

I'm just confirming that kids observe and know things that we assume they're too young for.

I think one thing that was a big positive about seeing demons is the fact that you learn how to fight the normally unseen realm. Honestly I think one thing that really helped was telling them that by the blood of jesus they have no authority over you, they cannot stand the name. I remember it happened a lot and was when we lived with my grandfather for a short period of time. It was horrible, for a short period of time I would wake up to see different demons and it was something straight out of the scariest horror films ever made!
