The comments by the mayors and city councilman WERE the evidence.
By the way, they were also what inspired Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day as well.
It's not a matter of elected officials having rights. It's a matter of elected officials discriminating based on ideologyThen we're back to "Do you lose your right to free speech when you get elected?" If they did nothing but stupidly spout off their displeasure, then Chick-Fil-A is not banned, it was never banned, and it is not going to be banned.
The Chick-Fil-A CEO, on the other hand, did more than make a speech; he did pay money to groups active in persecuting a minority.
And that's OK. That's free speech, too. As is the Kiss-In, or whatever it was called.

Still waiting for a list of those groups
Strange I seem to see it starting when it was revealed Chick-fil-a donated $5million to the anti gay marriage groups like NOM (you know the ones who always insist on companies staying neutral and have at least 2 active boycotts on the go right now)
And then the comments from the Dan Cathy about gays invoking Gods wrath on America.
In Chicago, Ald. Joe Moreno is using the same argument as Rahm Emmanuel to block Chick-fil-A from opening its first free-standing restaurant in Chicagos Logan Square neighborhood. One more time:
What exactly did the politicians do to discriminate against Chick-Fil-A? Other than exercise their free speech rights with stupid speeches. If they did not lose those rights, then the speeches alone are not something they did that discriminates.
I wouldn't care about the Chick-Fil-A CEO's speech if it was just the speech, but he is also funding active discrimination. He did something besides the speech. I have seen no evidence, and you have provided no evidence that the politicians have done anything to actively discriminate.

New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, used her official letterhead and claimed to be writing as speaker of the New York City Council when she sent a letter to New York University president John Sexton on Saturday asking the school to immediately end their contract with Chick-fil-A
It's odd that Rahm says that Chick-fil-A's values are not Chicagos values, yet the COO of Chick-fil-A opposes homosexual marriage and in Chicago, homosexual marriage is illegal. It seems to me they share the same valuesDoes anyone really believe that Rahm Emanuel has no idea about Farrakhan's 'biblical' belief on the Pro-marriage stance?
Imagine Emanuel declaring publically 'the Nation of Islam values do not represent Chicago values' like he did with Dan Cathy expressing his support for a traditional definition of marriage.
Whatever could this mean Mach? It's odd that Rahm says that Chick-fil-A's values are not Chicagos values, yet the COO of Chick-fil-A opposes homosexual marriage and in Chicago, homosexual marriage is illegal. It seems to me they share the same values
Kiss-in was a big failure.
Yeah, appealing to the old, fat, white demographic who love to eat unhealthy fried fast food is a great long-term strategy for Chick-Fil-A...There wasn't the first kiss-in protester at our local Chick-fil-a today LOL And someone online told me I was on the wrong side of history.
Gee, that's so.... not funny. Could we get any more insulting and inflammatory here?Yeah, appealing to the old, fat, white demographic who love to eat unhealthy fried fast food is a great long-term strategy for Chick-Fil-A...
..."appreciators" of course being the "old, fat, white demographic who love to eat unhealthy fried fast food?"Contrary to what the Chick-Fil-A appreciators...
...I stand corrected - it's the "old, fat, white, paranoid, persecuted hystericals on the right demographic who love to eat unhealthy fried fast food"...might have told themselves, this whole brouhaha over Cathy and Chick-Fil-A was primarily a creation of the paranoid hysteria of the right and its persecution complex.
So... let me get this straight - you've never even SEEN a Chick-Fil-A ...but [somehow] you know they serve unhealthy fried fast food to old, fat, white, paranoid, persecuted hystericals on the right?People on the pro-equality side didn't really care much about it other than that we won't be spending our money at CFA. Personally I've never even seen a CFA,...
Oy... what a setup for a great comeback... but out of... well let's just say "good taste," I'll refrain...and I think most LGBTQ people probably have better taste than to be eating fried garbage in the first place.
Well, if the sentiments expressed in this post are indicators of what it takes to be on the "right" side of history (whatever that means), color me on whatever the opposite side of that might be.In terms of who will turn out to be on the right side of history, the long-term war is pretty much already won by the pro-equality side. A day of Chick-Fil-A sales won't change that.
